I can kind of understand why the Saints are celebrating so much (because their going to their first Superbowl)... But if they win in two weeks then they really can celebrate all the want.

Big time choke for the Vikings

Congrats Saints

From what I saw today though Indy will pick them apart.

Really?

The Colts just had to beat two teams that barely made the post-season with two young, mediocre quarterbacks and weak receivers in order to get to the Superbowl.

The Saints had to beat a pretty solid team and a fairly great team, both with amazing quarterbacks and great receivers, not to mention solid running games.

The Saints are a much more balanced team.  The Colts have the edge at QB and TE (and it's not even a big one), but I can't think of any other positions where the Colts have the advantage.

I like the Saints to win the Superbowl.  The NFC Championship felt like the Superbowl to me.

I guess I'm thinking on poise alone in favor of the Colts.  Maybe the Saints got there jitters out in this game, but they did not play well.

Yeah, that's not a bad point.  The Colts (especially Manning) definitely have the edge in terms of experience and thus probably composure.

Still, I imagine that for the Saints the Superbowl in Miami might be less harrowing than playing with such high expectations in a huge stadium packed with your fans.

I think it'll be a good game but I like the Saints in the Superbowl.

Seriously though, interception and too many men in the huddle screw ups aside, why were the Vikings content to set up a 50 yard field goal at the end of regulation?  They let over a minute run off the clock on too short runs before the 3rd down blunder.

i actually agree with this post 210% but as a brett favre hater Id rather focus on yet another championship game squandered by the patented Brett Favre Panic-N-Pass offense

As a lifelong Vikings Fan(cant get to the viking board now as it has crashed like us), this goes down as one of the worst defeats I have experienced in my sports life..bill buckner is definitely right up there and 2003 game 7 vs Yankees there as well(had 2 sets of tickets to World Series that year in Fenway, airfare and hotel). 1998 was bad for the Vikings as well but this one really hurt..because I actually believed Favre would get us over the hump.. One of my close friends had gotten me tickets to the Super Bowl this year as well if the Vikings Won..another cancelled hotel..ugh...Sick to my stomach is the understatement

That end of the 4th quarter was horrible and really showcased how bad Childress is as coach. No, he did not cause my team to turnover the ball 5 times but he did blunder that clock management and stopped what was working for Favre by trying to run the ball 2 times in a row. God, I am not sure when we will ever get a chance this close to winning a Super Bowl again...wake me 2 weeks from now when I awaken from my self imposed journey into becoming a hermit...ugh...

Sorry for what you had to go through but at least you don't have to be scarred for life by your team losing in the Super Bowl going for a perfect season and trying to become the best team ever to play the game of football.

Would you have put the ball in Favre's hands in that situation?  I know I wouldn't.  I wouldn't be surprised if they even called a run on 3rd down as well, and Favre changed it in the huddle.

Oh man, that sucks.  :-\

Think of it this way:

At least it wasn't in the Superbowl and you didn't lose on a freak quasi-accidental catch made by a guy who never made another NFL catch in his career on a throw put up by a guy who is nothing but a weaker less charismatic far less talented version of his annoying big brother.  And at least it didn't end your bid for a perfect season.

But on the other hand, at least the Patriots won it all a few times before that.

Ah well.

He's their quarterback, so yeh, I would.  They were moving the ball well, and had the Saints on their heels.  With a chance to get the ball into more reasonable field goal range and bunch more time on the clock, I don't see how you couldn't.

Our Vikings kicker is a really good distance kicker as well...I think I would liked to have at least had the chance to win

What is sick that Ryan Longwell is 8 for 8 in the past 2 seasons from over 50 yards..that is beyond disgusting and what a horrible blunder by Childress for not setting up the kick for someone who is perfect in that situation.

Huge blunder at the end. Overall Farve played a great game, but like the last couple of post seasons he made a huge mistake with the ball at the end of the game.

I don't know what to think about this SB match up. The teams appear to be pretty even overall. My gut says Saints have looked a smidge better overall, but the Colts team speed might be enough to contain their offense.

We shall see.

I think we're looking at a third straight classic Super Bowl.

I hate NFL overtime...they should go the college way. Especially with these two teams.

And I like the Colts...I trust their D a lot more and they have won every game that they have tried to this year. Can't really beat that track record.

I was a clumsy sports obsessed 9 year old that cried like a baby when Gary Anderson shanked it wide left. Now, sitting in my dorm room watching the game with some of my friends, I feel like part of me just died. Honestly, there will never EVER be a better chance for the Vikings to get the monkey off their backs. I don't know what it is..but there is a curse somewhere. Wow...thats all I can say right now..
