I would really love Rudy Gay too, but I doubt that Memphis will give him up for anything we've got (unless of course we pull the trigger on a Ray deal and take back other players as well and that all hinges on them wanting Ray.)  Who knows though, Chris Wallace is about as bad a GM as it gets in the NBA.

Plleasssee? We need something like this. People can talk about KG as much as they want and how when he gets back we'll be better, I agree but I still think we need a little bit of a shakeup.

I'll be back with a ridiculous trade idea ASAP  :D

Also, are you assuming he's on the block because Chad Ford thinks he is?  Because your link only takes me to the espn NBA homepage where Ford's "10 Names to be traded" list is.  If that's the case, then he's not actually on the trading block.

Ok, here's my idea that makes no sense for the other two teams = D

Boston trades Ray Allen for Eddy Curry, Nate Robinson, Rudy Gay

New York trades Curry, Nate, Jordan Hill and Duhon for Conley, Carrol, Ray Allen

Memphis trades Rudy Gay, Conley and Carrol for Hill and Duhon plus a lot of love and picks from New York and Boston.

Chris Wallace would be down for it.

Ray Allen + Big Baby

for

Rudy Gay + Zach Randolph

I hate Randolph as much as the next guy, but he is putting up 20/11 and we have no idea what we can get out of KG and Wallace. He could play center in some lineups.

lol why would they do this? You can't trade a young soon to be star and a still young 20 and 10 guy, for a declining star, and a 9th man.

I highly doubt Gay is on the trading block with the way Memphis is playing and the great nucleus they seem to be forming.

Why?  Why would they trade him right now?  They're on fire, they have a chance to make the playoffs.  It makes no sense to trade him.
do it

If I am not mistaken, Gay will be a restricted FA next year.  It seems as though he is a valuable part of the team.  Unless they feel Samy Young is really good, I don't see how they could trade Rudy.  Maybe for someone like Derrick Rose as PG seems to be a position of need.  We would probably need to give up Rondo to even get a conversation started.

What if we threw in Bill Walker plus a few future first rounders?  They'd be getting young talent in Big Baby and Bill Walker who could develop plus you throw in Eddies' expiring or TA's.  Still won't ever happen though.

Why the hate for Chris Wallace?  Memphis is in the playoff hunt, and Wallace's good decisions have had alot to do with it.
They're a better team now than when they had Pau Gasol.

Gay is cheap and he can score.  If he signs an offer sheeet that they don't want to match, the can explore a sign and trade.  The Grizz have his Bird rights.

Somehow I think Wallace has gotten lucky, considering this past offseason's moves.  Randolph has been awesome, I guess that's the lucky part.  He's always been super talented but he seemed destined to play on losing teams like the Clips and Knicks.  He flopped with Iverson and Hasheem Thabeet.  He's also somewhat lucky that Gasol decided to lose 30lbs.
