I noticed during the Mavs game that Rondo has gone back to his FT form of old, which isn't vastly different but he doesn't tuck his elbow in as much. I'm honestly a bit disappointed he hasn't stuck with his new FT mechanics for at least an entire season. but he shot 4 of 8 in Det tonight and 1 of 2 in the Dallas game.

yea not very significant in the grand scheme of things, but it interests me.  I wonder why he dropped it.

I was shocked when I saw him in the mavs game. But I thought it was just a one time thing until he did it against the pistons too.

Why he changed it is a mystery to me! The new shooting form looked extremely promising and I actually felt comfortable when he went to the line. He had a great routine...three bounces of the ball, correction to the right to get his elbow in and shot. Now, he just steps to the line and chucks his shot up...

I am baffled by what he is doing. It just makes no sense...

I wonder if he himself noticed at all.

He must have. He had been doing that new routine for a couple weeks now. Shooting 80 percent or something from the line since the loss against LA. Plus, he watches a lot of gametape. PLUS (again) he's superstitious (Sp?)

I don't think he'd notice not doing the routine unless he just didn't want to do it.. It's weird.

And in the Pistons game, he practices the motion before the actual free throw... first time I remember seeing him do that. Afterwards, he seems to rush the actual free throw itself as if he's not trying to overthink it (which could explain how he didn't think to keep the elbow in). It's somewhat discouraging to watch him not have a consistent free throw routine, but maybe it's better that he's experimenting now rather than later.

I'm not too worried tbh. He'll figure it out. He works hard.
