62 and 20.

And this team is just a year removed from running off 19 in a row.

I still believe in them, even if they are having issues right now.

So you think we're going to go 35-7 from now till the end of the season?

Well, considering we're probably gonna get at least 3 more losses before the middle of February, I'd say that's a pretty tall order.

Yeah, IMO if we get healthy, if we get that swagger back, we cap go for two 10+ game winning streaks so 60 wins is not so imposible

Interesting question: if somehow the 5 best players in the league all played on the same team, would that team win 82 games?

This team will not come close to 62 wins. Even 55 will be a stretch at this point. All I need to do is look at the court to see old, tired and disinterested players to know that even thinking 62 wins is crazy.

So, tonight we were officially eliminated from the race for 70 wins.  If we win every game from here on out, we'll make it to 69-13.

Funny. I saw the title and thought, how could people have waited until now for a thread like this? The light bulb goes on.

What happened?  Is it all the KG injury?  Was it a completely unrealistic goal in the first place?  Is this team massively under-achieving?  Did the team start buying its own hype?

I think it's a combo of the KG injury and Paul's injury and Rondo's. We've gotten out of sync.

At the beginning of the season, Hollinger predicted 54 wins, and I believe the Vegas line was around 56.  I thought those were massive under-estimates of our potential, but at this point, it looks like the "experts" were a lot closer to the truth than I could have imagined.

After losing 8 of 12 we're still on pace to meet that win total, and we have just over half a season left. If KG stays in the lineup and nothing bad happens we shouldn't have too much trouble hitting 60 wins.

I guess the good thing is that neither the Cavs nor the Lakers are going to approach 70 wins, either.  In fact, no team may win 65 games.  Still, that doesn't make me feel all that much better when the Celts are dropping games like tonight.

Good mainly in the sense that there are no teams that are head and shoulders above us.
