So, tonight we were officially eliminated from the race for 70 wins.  If we win every game from here on out, we'll make it to 69-13.

What happened?  Is it all the KG injury?  Was it a completely unrealistic goal in the first place?  Is this team massively under-achieving?  Did the team start buying its own hype?

At the beginning of the season, Hollinger predicted 54 wins, and I believe the Vegas line was around 56.  I thought those were massive under-estimates of our potential, but at this point, it looks like the "experts" were a lot closer to the truth than I could have imagined.

I guess the good thing is that neither the Cavs nor the Lakers are going to approach 70 wins, either.  In fact, no team may win 65 games.  Still, that doesn't make me feel all that much better when the Celts are dropping games like tonight.

Both Cleveland and the Lakers will win at least 60 and I fully expect they will meet again in the finals. The C's will probably win 54-56 games, as Vegas predicted, which is a bitter disappointment to me,

cleveland is going to be the 1 seed because they have the ability to make a move to get a guy like troy murphy or jamison. plus they are pulling away while boston is toiling in despair

Nike ads would have you believe Kobe and Lebron have met in the Finals for 1 on 1 lovefest for years on end.

Well, I think I had them at 63-19 so at least that's still feasible.  ;)

(Realistically, if injuries remain a bigtime issue, they're finishing under 60 wins and probably close to what the wiseguys predicted)

At this point, 50 wins will seem like an achievement to me.

Trhey are 27-13. You really don't think they can go 36-6 the rest of the way, do you?

The emoticon and parentheses didn't convey across what I was really getting at?

I'm thinking 25-17.  52 wins

Wow that's so bad; and it sounds accurate.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

We've got a .675 winning record about halfway into the season, and that's with the hot start and this latest crappy stretch.

To win 25 games from here on out we'd have to win 60% of our games.  I think it seems reasonable.  I'm not optimistic enough to expect us to have any more 11 game winning streaks, but I'm not pessimistic enough to think we'll actually hover around or below .500 for the rest of the season.
