This team is simply awful right now, and it is much more than KG being out. Bad body language, bad third quarters almost every night, turnover after turnover after turnover, falling asleep on defense, Eddie and Ray can't shoot anymore, and on and on and on and on. I give credit to the optimists, because I do not know what there is to be optimistic about.

This is ridiculous

Yes, the Celtics have not (publicly) used Garnett's injury as an excuse, but it's clear that they're playing as if they are. This team has so much talent, even without KG and Daniels, that they should be throttling a woeful squad such as Detroit -- especially a Pistons team without Prince and Gordon! I'm sick of seeing these guys loaf around the court for entire quarters and even halves at a time. Used to be that the third was Boston's quarter: lockdown D to put the game out of reach, then cruise in the fourth. Lately, though, the third has become the Quarter from Hell -- atrocious offense and similar D.

There. Just had to vent.

It is ridiculous. Absurd, really. I swear to god I'm gonna be so p1ssed at the celtics if this is a repeat of last year.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

The only thing to be optimistic about is KG coming back, and the hope that he will 1) be healthy 2) bring the intensity, focus and swagger back to this team (they did have an 11 game winning streak earlier this year).

That said, I really hated watching a mediocre Pistons team run the C's ragged in the 3rd quarter.  I hated all of the bad passing, the lazy D, the mopey faces, etc etc etc...

Brutal loss.  Brutal performance.  I said during the game, that yeh, a win would be nice if they could pull it out at the end, but it wouldn't change the fact that they let a bad team back in the game by playing way below their ability.
Yup

third quarters have been bad all season with or without KG. i seem to think that this is going to be a trend all season. i get the sense that boston thinks they can flip switch and just start winning when they think it is time to. but i just dont see it this year.

We scored 30 points in the second half. 30.

30!

I'm speechless.

If  by repeat, you mean that our skill is at the same level as it was last year, then I believe you are mistaken. This team is unmotivated. Yeah, we don't have KG and Marquis at our disposal right now, so what? This team looks lazy. Paul looks lazy. Maybe it's just old age, but this team just looks REALLY unenthusiastic. We should be wanting to get that 1st seed and not settle for anything less. Now it looks like all we want is the 3rd seed at best. Has this team lost ALL of its dignity? I wish I could just slap some sense into these players, because Doc Rivers' lectures don't seem to work.

i just want to know what everyone will think when KG does come back and they continue this trend of bad losses. i really dont think KG is the end all be all with this team...i believe the issues run deeper than just KG being gone. they are mentally soft

After watching this team for almost 40 games, with and without KG, I honestly believe it will end worse than last season. Eddie House can't shoot anymore. Sheed seems to get worse every gam. Pierce has a quarter or two of brilliance and then disappears. Ray Allen looks like he is 100 years old. Shelden Williams is not the answer and right now neither is Glen Davis. But I know, I know, games in January don't mean anything  ::)

I'm as gloomy as I've ever been.  It's not even the losses, it's the effort.  I loved the team that lost 18 in a row because they busted their rear ends.

Just pathetic.

Bring it back KG!

Give them credit, I think they held the turnovers under 20 tonight. Seriously, if they start winning every game when KG comes back, he might be nominated for Sainthood, because it would be a miracle. There is a hell of a lot more than KG wrong with this squad right now and you are blind if you do not see it.

This team is unmotivated.

Exactly. And it's frustrating as heck to watch.
