The piece of news has been reported by both Chris Forsberg and Adrian Wojnarowski.

A video of the "ripping" of the officials should come up soon. :P

Why was he criticized?  What did he say?  By the way, from what I saw in the game, there wasn't anything that was incredibly bad with the refs.  I mean, they were bad, but that's already to be expected, so there wasn't anything out of unusual.
Baby Jesus!

If this is true the Celts should fine him $50k for criticizing the refs after the Mavs game and not after the Hawks game.

I'm actually sick of players getting fined for criticizing these AWFUL refs.  They need to be criticized!

maybe when the fines first started in nba for coaches/players criticizing the refs it made sense....now with how horrible the refs are and felons for refs?  to me it just points out how inferior the nba's system is
stern wants to shut the players up but the fines get publicity and I'd expect 90% OR MORE of nba fans will say the refs stink

Pretty sure no other sport has to fine players for crap like this. Enough said.

It's obvious certain refs have major bias against certain players/teams and the league does nothing about it.

Now I didn't see all the Dallas game so I won't say anything about that game, but the NBA certainly puts their business motives before the actual sport. Seen this too many times.

Here is what Sheed said after the game :

Quote
"[The officials] don't like tough defense on [Dirk Nowitzki], so, of course, I get a whole lot of [expletive] calls," Wallace said after Monday's game in which foul trouble limited his minutes. "That's how the story goes, I'm not worried about it. We'll see them again."

The Mavericks made a late third-quarter run with Wallace sidelined with four fouls. Asked if he thought that was the difference in the game, Wallace added, "Actually, I honestly can't remember which one the fourth foul was, there was so many bogus [calls], but I'm not worried about it."

Remember, at the beginning of the season, how happy everyone was that these excellent officials got a contract, and we didn't have to play with scabs?

We just couldn't stand refs calling things like travelling and stuff.

We wanted refs who understood the flow of the game, and didn't interupt it with calling things that are against the rules.

We didn't want refs making calls that decided games, often even if it was the right call.

We only want refs to call certain fouls, not "petty" ones.

Really, we want refs who understand that the rule book is only a suggestion for how to put on a show called "NBA Basketball", not actual rules that define how the game is to be played.

And then we complain about the calls?  Seriously?

This isn't Euroleague.

Who the hell said any of the things you're asserting "we all said"? Check my post history I loved the replacement refs. I didn't give a crap about "flow" or whatever.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Well aren't you a purist.  You probably prefer college ball, then?  I'm sure you watch FIBA via a special satellite dish, too.

The point, which, in being so preoccupied being personally offended by a general post, you may have not noticed, is that there is little point in criticizing NBA officiating.  There isn't, and never was, any pretense that the call a close game, or even a consistent one.

The "all" included most players, coaches, and all of the media, along with many fans who didn't appreciate the  unpredictability.  But it was pretty clear that using replacements resulted in a different game.

Poor 'Sheed.  After so long in the league, he hasn't figured it out.  The result?  Poorer 'Sheed.

The point, which, in being so preoccupied being personally offended by a general postyou mean the post that generalized me. You should probably attack me for not accepting you're blanket stereotyping more, though., you may have not noticed, is that there is little point in criticizing NBA officiating.  There isn't, and never was, any pretense that the call a close game, or even a consistent one. There is a point. Maybe MLK shouldn't have tried to change America. Yeah, we should all give up because things are hard.

The "all" included most players, coaches, and all of the media, along with many fans who didn't appreciate the  unpredictability Yeah that's basically a lie..  But it was pretty clear that using replacements resulted in a different game.
