Thanks, gentlemen (or ladies as the case may be).

Funny – before I read the Giddens offer, I was listening to Ryen Russillo and Ric Bucher talk about how Danny is famous for his insultingly low offers amongst league executives and media.

It’s in the last couple of minutes of this:

nice offer!

Tanguay is an idiot.  This is not baseball.  You cannot trade "future considerations" in basketball, and they would have needed to include someone else (House, Allen, or Scal...all of whom are more valuable than Giddens) to match salaries.  As always, do not listen to what Tanguay says, because he has no clue what he is talking about.

Yeah, Giddens could have been a piece of a deal, but he certainly wasn't the only outgoing player.

Let's just imagine for a moment he meant a pick of some kind -- say a 2nd. When Robinson had like 14 DNP-CDs in a row, I'm not sure why we imagined that Danny would have offered much more than Giddens and a pick. None of this matters, I'm just pointing out such an offer may have happened before Nate had 41 in his first game back.

The salaries don't match.  It could not have been just Giddens and a pick.  That is the whole point.  And since Giddens is the 14th man on this team right now, every other play on the roster is more valuable than him, making him the throw-in, rather than an important piece.

I guess the "future consideration" means tony allen?

in any deal they should word it "the celtics have traded the future potential of tony allen and the presumed intangibles of brian scalabrine for..."
