I feel like it doesn't. Marc Spears said it and to be honest i don't know how much creditability he has with rumors and what not but it seems to me no other source is reporting this at all. Maybe that's a good thing? I am not sure but it seems to me this rumor has no legs really. If anyone else has more info to show that is has more legs instead of Nate saying he wanted to come here then i would be very happy to look at! I really want this to happen!

I guess we will learn more about it today and see if it has any legs or not.

But the NY Daily News reports that Doc would be glad to coach Robinson :

Quote
The Celtics have made an offer to the Knicks for Robinson, according to a reporter for Yahoo! Sports who appeared Tuesday on a Boston radio station. The reporter did not say what the Celtics offered.

According to a person with ties to Doc Rivers, the Celtics coach wouldn't mind getting the chance to coach Robinson, even if he's high-maintenance. "Doc thinks he can connect with anybody," said the source.

Update :

Quote

In case you missed it, Alan Hahn, Newsday’s excellent Knicks beat reporter, filed a brief update on the Nate Robinson situation last night.

Per Hahn: “We got indications tonight that the two sources have, indeed, talked, but according to one source there is nothing yet happening.”

Hahn reports that Robinson would accept a deal to Boston because it would guarantee he receives the $1 million playoff bonus built into his one-year deal. (Robinson has veto power over any deal because of his status as a soon-to-be free agent with Bird rights playing on a one-year contract. Hahn reports that Nate Rob has already vetoed a deal that would have sent him to the Grizz in exchange for ex-UConn point guard Marcus Williams, since the Grizz aren’t exactly a post-season lock).

The Knicks, Hahn speculates, would most likely want Tony Allen, Eddie House or Marquis Daniels in any Nate trade. He also outlines the difficulties in making a Nate/Boston deal, which I went through here. The deal becomes easier if you introduce a third team with cap room, which would almost have to be Memphis. But the Grizzlies sudden status as a playoff contender (and not a lottery-bound also-ran) complicates that, as well.

I have no doubts that Danny made an offer.  I think the better question is whether the Knicks would do this and what exactly they're looking for.

If Nate is traded here, he will be in the Dunk Contest as a Celtic!

I think Marc Spears has a lot of credibility; I think he'd only report something if a trusted source told him something.  That being said, sources have been known to be wrong, so who knows?

I just want a headline saying "Robinson traded to Boston". No more speculation.

This is what makes me tentative about bringing Nate on board.

I think it's safe to say that a lot of D'Antoni's frustration with Nate has been the 'me first' style of play and his strong personality.

If Nate wanted to play for the Celtics becuase of the locker room, coaching staff, or simply chance to win that would be great. But, hearing that he has a $1 Million playoff bonus that he's mindful of in accepting any trade, makes me fear that this could be a precursor to his attitude when he arrives.

I might be reading into this too deeply, but having this understanding of the playoff bonus makes me question his motives to come to Boston.
"      “I can make a trade every day if I want to, but that's not going to help us. A trade that would get us better rarely comes along. They're very difficult to find. Good trades are very difficult in our league and don't happen very often.”

If it was a good offer it would have been accepted. This leads me to believe that the Knicks are looking for quality talent in return for him. If this is the case I have no interest in Nate. I would love him on the team for a cheap price, but the more the price increases the less I want him on the team.

I can't see the Celtics giving up Daniels or House.

This deal has to be built around the likes of TA, Scali, Walker and JR.

I can see House going in this deal or something after. We would have no room for him. Two undersized PG's is not the recipe for Championship. So we will see i go to work at 1230 I hope somethings happens while i am at work so i can flip when i get home!!!

I think we likely offered a combination of Scal/Shelden/JR/Giddens and some picks for him. Basically trying to turn our non-playoff rotation guys into a more useful player.

I'm still not excited about adding Nate.
