Quis or T.Allen

When Quis returns, who do you see getting the majority of the backup 2guard minutes? Personally id rather see Quis play the point with T Allen playing the 2 or 3 (depending on whether Paul or Ray is in) If this question was asked in the beginning of the year, Quis would be a no brainer but i beleive Tony has realy stepped up his play. He does make stupid decisions,liike jumping on every pump fake and commiting bad turn overs. But he has been someone who has finished strong around the basket and played good D for the most part. Quite frankly, I beleive he has outplayed Eddie who has provided nothing at all this year on either end. So why not use both of them?

I want to see Daniels and House out there along with either Pierce, Ray or Rondo.

It depends how thing their stretching it but I could picture both of them playing together at the same time at the 2 and 3.

I agree.  Daniels allows the team a lot more versatility, with his ball-handling skills.  I've been mostly pleasantly surprised by TA's play, but I trust Daniels a lot more.

I think you will see that down the stretch in the regular season, but come post-season, when they shorten the bench, Daniels will be the one getting the minutes.

Well, Tony leads in FG%, FT%, points, rebounds, steals, and (of course) TOs.  They're actually tied at 2.1 assists per game.

Good Post..I would think along the same lines as you, and use Eddie in special circumstances to spread the floor.

I would still rely on TA a bit, though, because he is a slightly better defender than Eddie and can get to the basket.

Had to add the TA blurb in there...man has not played perfect all the time but has been big in a few games for us since Quis went down..Christmas anyone?

Quis is definitely our backup PG though, IMO. Sprinkle TA or Eddie at the two depending on matchups of opponents.

Yeah, once Quisy is back, TA will be picking splinters again.  Doc found something solid with that 2nd unit featuring Daniels, House and either Ray or Paul.

I was pleasantly surprised by TA's contributions this season but we just can't trust him on the long term so I will be really glad to see Quis back.

I have been very happy with TA's play.  I however see Daniels as the better player for our team.  I can see them both playing together the ying & yang of Celtics....TA's offensive rebounding, hardcore defense blending with Marquis ball handling control and mid range game.   I think its going to be up to Doc!  Getting a set rotation for 2nd unit and getting the most out of each guy.  Obviously once playoffs start we should assume, giddens, walker, sheldon & scal (in order) we see no time.

Marquis Daniels is the more reliable and consistent player. He is a better ball handler and decision maker. Avoids the silly mistakes that negate a large chunk of TA's positives.

Marquis Daniels is the first choice backup wing + 7th man. Tony Allen is a borderline rotation player.

i hope both of them get substantial minutes on the floor so that both ray and pierce can rest up. if they can both play well on the court at the same time, it allows doc to rest the starters that much more.

it looks good for a long season. for the playoffs, i expect doc to substitute based on specific matchups.

I agree.  TA likely will get some run in the regular season, but Ray and Paul are averaging 36 mpg now.  Can't imagine how much they'll play in the playoffs.  There's no way there's room for a backup 2 and a backup 3 in the playoffs.  It'll be Quis with all the minutes with a few odd minutes for TA if there's foul trouble.
