  You're missing the big picture. All of the other contenders are practically invincible, even though they're all losing as many games as we are. The Celts are clearly headed straight for the gutter.

Nope...the Boston Celtics Championship window is open this year and Next Year. Wide Open.

We need to stay healthy, though...and even when missing key players the Celtics are a tough out.

We would have beat the Magic last year IF Powe was healthy, much less Garnett.

Unfortunately, most old teams don't stay healthy, which is the problem of being an old team.

Well, The Celtics are still Way better off than LA..Phil MUST play Kobe with a fractured finger...at least Doc won't hesistate to rest his players....

I hate the Lakers, but how many games have the played this year without their second best player, and what is their record? I am concerned that the Lakers will make a strong move to improve their bench and Danny will stand pat or add another weak, waiver wire veteran.

Their record is 3 and a half, potentially 4 games better than us. But that is deceiving because:
- they've played 25 home games and 15 away games, and unlike us they are not very good on the road, with just a 9-6 record, even though they've only played 7 teams with winning records on the road.
- Kobe is playing 39 minutes a game with a bad back and a broken finger.


Still, is 4 games the difference between the window being open and closed?

but when you have by far the best starting 5 in the league, that's a bad tactic which applies to lazy people without goals!

the cavs' window is more than open if lebron stays...shaq was a desperation move they made because they just couldn't get over their elimination by the magic!
generally, the team who will sign lebron this summer is automatically a big favorite for the next few years... he's young and with the right moves, they can build a championship team around him!

To me, the window being open means we have a decent shot. If you think that the hawks have a decent shot, but the celtics don't, then you are just trying to stir things up or you just love negativity.

Because I would love to hear the rationale that says that the team who is 6-6 since Christmas while fully healthy and is a game and a half behind us not only have a shot but are favored to make the finals, but the celtics, who are 5-7 in the same period while missing significant players to injury and still within 4 games of the top record in the league have absolutely no shot.

If the lazy people without goals are just slightly better than everyone else they will still be champions.

As I said in my last post: the championship window being open doesn't mean that we are overwhelming favorites. Just that we have a decent chance of winning a championship.

And as bad as we've been, there is simply no one out there that is much better than us. And I would say missing KG for 9 games, Pierce for 5, Sheed for 3, Rondo for 1 and Daniels for 19 so far are more than just "excuses."


So, if our window is closed and we don't have a decent shot at winning the championship, which are the teams that are so much better than us? Kobe might be younger than KG, but he has played more minutes in his career, and as we all know a bad back doesn't go away on its own.

The cavs window might be open wider if Lebron stays, but the topic here is not who has the longest window, but whether the celtics' window is closed.

And unless someone can come up with a team that is unequivocally better than the celtics, the answer is no, our window is definitely, 100% not closed.


And I wouldn't even go as far back as 68-69 to cite an example, but 94-95 with the 47-35 rockets.

Prior to KG getting hurt, we had the best record in the East, and were neck-and-neck with the Lakers.  Even now, we're one loss back from Cleveland, and three back from the Lakers.

To think that we're not a contender is mystifying to me.

It depends on which Celtics you're talking about... the Celtics at the opening night at Cleveland... or the January's Celtics?? cuz the Celtics I saw today can beat none of the teams you referred to!
