What do you say? Should he be in the contest after getting snubed last year?

If neither Eddie nor Ray Allen are in it then I'll be severely disappointed.  Have I not been paying attention or has Ray not been in it recently?  He's only getting close to breaking the all-time 3 point record... ::)

If Eddie couldn't make it last year when he was on fire, he won't make it this year when he's in a bit of a slump.  It's a real shame he's never been invited.

They'll probably ask Ray since he's not likely to make the game itself and the league loves him, but I'd be surprised if he went.

They both deserve the chance, I feel ... but certainly at least ONE Celtic should be in it. While we're on the subject, why don't they consider TA or Walker for the slam-dunk? (Or even Rondo?)

Hmmm, does it look like the Eddie is shoveling and shooting on different days to anybody else, or is it just me?  Tricky Eddie, tricky.

It's a shame he didn't get in last year.
It's a shame he has to campaign to get in this year.

One of the best 3 point shooters, on one of the best teams.
He set the 3pt% record on the most historic team in the NBA in a year when they were in championship contention.  I mean I could see if it was a 15 win season, but come on they won 60+ games.  It's just a shame.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Pierce deserves it this year so i think he should participate.

But its completely disgusting that Eddie was left out last year.

I agree with you guys, I don't think Eddie will be selected but I think that he has a chance for his overall career and his shooting touch.

It really was a shame and a scandal that he didn't make it last year when he was having a career year and the best in the history of the Celtics... so it's unlikely he makes it this year with lower percentages, but still, the contestants of last year were a joke in terms of merit so I still have hope for Eddie.

Paul definitely deserves to be in there too but I think it would be more fun to see Eddie in the contest, he would probably break a record by making all three pointers in a round (seriously, it could happen if Eddies gets "in the zone" ;D).

I'm pretty sure Ray declined last year, maybe that was in hope that they would offer a chance to Eddie. Either way, Eddie deserves to be in it every year, I mean, craig hodges was in it eight times and his credentials were not any better than Eddie's. Last year's participants were horrible. As for Pierce, I would like to see him in it, but the last time he was in it with Antoine, they both sucked.

I love Eddie more than most, but he'd be one round and out in this type of contest. He shoots with too much spring in his shot and is such a big streak shooter that he could really lay an egg out there. The only other possibility is he'd light it up one round, and then an egg the next. No way he could shoot consistently enough to win it all through multiple rounds.

it would be cool to see eddie win.

personally, i would like the contestants in all star saturday to be with only players that will be in the all star game.  i think it would be more fun and appealing to the fans.

I agree with this in principle.  There are too many Gerald Greens/Nate Robinsons in these contests.  But then again, what if Kapono wasn't allowed to participate?  When it comes to shooting the long ball, that guy is money.

agreed on this point.  jump shooters almost never win.

Ironically enough, given how the NBA handles these things, I am sure Eddie will get in this year (when he hasn't shot the ball as well) instead of last year (when he deserved to be in).

He also lobbied to be in it last year.  In a time when players are trying to back out of All-Star game commitments throughout sports, it's disappointing to see the league disregard a deserving player who actually wants to be a part of it.

I think for the 3-point, I would rather give the chance to somebody who is more of a 3-point specialist (like Eddie House, Jason Kapono, JR Smith and Anthony Morrow) than just name.  Pierce has a good percentage, but is he really a better 3-point shooter than House or is he just taking much smarter shots (with fewer pressure)?

I think House would do very well since he would have enough time due to his quick release and he actually is a pretty good 3-point shooter.

It isnt, what your seeing is both ends of the court, but i do believe that the other end where he takes the majority of his shots has been priviously prepared but its most def. shot on the same day and at the same court
