Okay. I know it's been covered before, but is it not apparent to anyone watching that the Celtics have no one besides Rondo who can play the point. I don't care what kind of shape he's in, you can not expect him to be effective playing as many minutes as he has to. It's pitiful watching House or Tony Allen playing the point. They are both not able to run an offense. a perfect example was the second quarter of last nights game. How many times did they turn the ball over? Seemed like a 100 times, and Ray or Paul are not the answer handling the ball either. So Rondo plays way too many minutes and he plays like crap in the 4th quarter because he's beat.
Danny, you don't need an all star, just someone who can handle a ball, run an offense and maybe play some D agains't the other teams point guard. 12-15 minutes a game. There has got to be someone out there who can do that. The Celtics have got to be the only team in the league with only 1 point guard on the roster.
This is not a reaction to last nights game. This is very clear to me from watching pretty much game this year. It has to be clear to Danny and Doc also.
Thank you for letting me vent.

Every year they bring someone in, but nobody is able to lock up the job.  I'm not really enjoying House because he's so one dimentional.  I feel like if they want to play TA at that spot, they should do it consistently for a period of time and then give him the permanent job or make a move.  TA sometimes gets that assignment for only a few minutes a game.  And I'm not crazy about Paul or Ray starting the offense.  Maybe they are just waiting for Daniels as far that goes.

I dont think it matters much, because come playoff time Rondo will be averaging at least 40 mins.  Surely they can find 6-8 minutes of ball handling duties between the rest.

What about Brevin Knight?
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I wanted him 3 years ago but I think his time has come and gone.

Here is the problem Danny is facing right now.  If Daniels is healthy, they are probably OK at PG.  He can handle the duties well enough to get Rondo his rest and keep House off the ball.

However, it looks like Daniels will be out for at least another month, and who knows if he will remain healthy after that.  So can they stick it out with Tony Allen as the second ball handler (and I use that term VERY loosely) for that long?

And of course making things even worse is the fact that there just aren't many other options out there right now, and this team may have bigger holes to fill at the trade deadline if they want to use their expiring contracts.  For example, if KG doesn't get better soon, they might need to start looking at bringing in another athletic big man.

Ultimately, I think Danny is going to wait it out.  He will keep his eyes on the waivers to see if someone comes free, and he will stay open to ideas for trades.  But unless another injury happens, he will probably try to stick it out until the trade deadline, and buyouts.

I really like Earl Watson as a backup point guard

Danny Ainge should try to trade for him and Jeff Foster maybe something like Shelden Williams, Brian Scalabrine, and Eddie House for them

Maybe Larry Bird could give his old team a break
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I think a wing scorer is more important. We need a guy who can provide a spark off the bench.

Maggette & Morrow for Scal, Eddie & JRG.

Warriors dump salary and get 12mil under the 2010 cap, Cs add two legit players they clearly need.

If you add in TA or Billy Walker and you could potentially get Watson back to run some point. Regardless, you may need to include a pick in this deal.

Earl has always been a malcontent everywhere he's been.

In terms of on the court, he is definately a shoot first type PG, who has always been an overrated defender. Pass

Earl Watson has always had a really good amount of assists and his shots attempts to assist ratio is about the same as guys like Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Jason Kidd who I don't think are considered shoot first point guards

I never read anything about him being a malcontent

unless we're willing to take on TJ Ford, we have nothing (we're willing to give up) the Pacers want.

He's not really a shoot first guy, more of a PG who can't shoot.

He's definitely been a locker room pain.
