I hate doing this but...

Remember back in the 80s’ when DA nicked-named KMacHale “the black hole”…cause the ball never comes out once you pass it in?  Well, KP is turning into a black-hole, but unlike Kevin, Perk isn’t HOF material…so I am beginning to have a problem with that.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Perk but someone has to come out and tell him that he doesn't have to "make something happen" everytime he gets the ball.

Good Point - I think it's all a part of his learning process. As he continues to score in the low teens like he has done recently he will eventually get some double teams, which will definitely lead him to passing the ball out more.

He'll get better. It's a process for him. He's only 25 or 26.

Yeah, I've noticed Perk is killing us when he's got the ball far away from the basket. It's OK if he attempts his moves under the basket but when he is far away from the paint and the other team throws a double team at him, you can be sure it will result in a turnover. I don't know if he just doesn't see his open teammates or if he doesn't want to pass them the ball but it's frustrating to watch.

Perk does have this problem of stopping the ball movement every time he gets the ball. But at the same time, often when he's stuck, it's not like his teammates help bail him out. Yesterday, I felt like they just stood there in their respective corners while watching Perk get clobbered by 2-3 defenders.

actually perk had a great pass last night
ball was thrown into him and it was a double almost immediately, he never brought the ball in put it into the corner for scal  :o to hit a 3
perk is not the prettiest offensive player by ANY MEANS
but he's improving, young etc
he needs to work on his footwork!  glenn davis might be a big lug but he has better footspeed than perk & sheldon easily
for better or worse perk is a plodder

Yep.  When Perk gets the ball and gets in a tough situation, he rarely passes back out.  And when he does pass, it's a turnover. He's becoming a turnover machine.:-\

The "black hole" wouldn't be so bad if he was scoring or doing something positive, but way too often he turns it over or makes a bad decision. Last night the only time he kicked it out was when he got doubled. Very frustrating.

Something's wrong if the big man is turning the ball over more than the point guard.

I think it's all a learning curve for Perk.  At first, teams didn't expect him to score.  He began to take advantage of that.  Now teams are double teaming him.  I am sure that is something that he never really had to deal with in the NBA, so now it's an adjusting time for him.  He needs to learn when to shoot or when to pass before the double gets to him.  In a few games, with the right wisdom, I think he can adjust to it and become more efficient.  For now I think he's learning how to deal with it.

I don't think it's unwillingness or selfishness on Perk's part.  I just think his lack of skill is coming into play.  He can catch the ball and make a move, but he just doesn't have the skills and coordination to spot open men after he starts his dribble.  And I've noticed he's been traveling a lot lately.  I think he'll get that under control, but he's never going to be finding open men after he bounces the ball.

^This. But I wouldn't say he's NEVER goint to find the open man.  Perk comes back better every year. I bet he works on his passing next.

I bet he'll be able to find the open man when he's stationary.  I just can't picture him making passes off the dribble because he's so mechanical.  But you are right, the guy improves every year, so never say never.
