Sheed hurt, Daniels hurt, Garnett out at least another 10 days (where have I seen this one before and it is getting scarier each time they announce more days off), and Doc gets tossed tonight after the refs take the game from us and award the Hawks a victory. I just don't like the pattern -- old players keep breaking down and that is what we are seeing. I know the goal is to be healthy for the playoffs, but with what is happening game in and game out and with the mystery status of Garnett, I really do not think it is going to happen. I love this team and loved the effort tonight, but it is all so depressing right now.

Yup. Losing to the Hawks in all the games we played them in is a hard thing to stomach. Feels like we lost a bunch of games but we only lost 10. Bright side to the situation, we're still 2nd in the East and 3rd in the league. I'm sure this team will pull this one out and finish the season strong.

The worst part is C's are 3-5 in the last 8 games. In the words of Charles Barkley 'That's Turrible'. We don't know the extend of KG's injury. Daniels is injury prone, and could be out again if he comes back. We need some help, Rondo can't play 44mins every game.

I'm depressed too.  :-[

I'll tell you, it is very depressing when a solid all around effort through 2 and a half quarters gets dismantled by truly awful officiating.

This team had no chance to win this game, not with the way it was called.  The Hawks outplayed us in the fourth quarter, but you're expecting too much if you want a team to keep the momentum after a terrible flagrant foul call and the ejection of their coach.  The refs gift-wrapped the game for the Hawks, and the Hawks were just good enough to win it from there.

Rondo being the focus of our offense is what's killing this team.

Same goes with Perk.

These two guys need to feed off of what Paul and Ray do....not the other way around.

it was that first half:

Ray gets hit in the head on a layup--NO CALL
Shelden reaches in-ALL BALL----FOUL!
Rondo gets run off the court--NO CALL
Pierce whacked on layup attempt--NO CALL

That's like 6 points right there

So, when they called that flagrant-Doc went nuts.

We're terrible!  Trade 'em all!  It's over!

Sorry, all.  Just wanted to get the "someone overreacts ridiculously" portion of the program out of the way before someone who actually meant it filled the role.  As you were.

Agreed that this one was a tough loss to take, at least as far as early January losses can be.  I'm very impressed with how this Hawks team has performed against us this season and wouldn't be thrilled about seeing them early in the playoffs.

Carry on.

You could make a list 4 times as long as that for the whole game, too.

It was just a really, really awful game.  The Celtics should have been able to increase their lead to 15 or 20 in the 3rd and then ride the game out from there, but the refs ensured that the Hawks stayed in it and then gave them the game on a platter.  All the Hawks had to do is play the Celtics evenly from there and they are more than good enough to manage that, especially with all of the momentum in their favor.

Seems like an odd night to pick on Scal.

One game doesn't a season or career make, and I agree with many on this board insofar as I found myself happier with his contributions last season than I have thus far this season, but I'm not as down on him as most.  And certainly, he did a fine job in a spot start tonight.

Just gave you a TP for this astute observation.

Agreed -- Scal played well tonight from what I read. However, that is one good game out of 36.

Wow -- C's saying Sheed out a week (at least). That's another thing to add to this depression thread.

TP for anyone who talks about the brutal officiating. they c's wore down on the fourth, but that is what happens when it is 5 on 8 all night long. for some reason, refs always take care of the hawks vs the c's. that team is such a joke. they have been chasing the c's since i was a kid and they never have beaten us and they never will. (at least not when it is important).

this was not bad officiating tonight, it was simply one sided and pre-determined. bennett salvadore, well done once again.

we lose down there and predictably, they lose to orlando the next night by 35. they are a joke, their arena is a joke, their 584 fans are a joke.

good fourth quarter bibby....oh wait, he was on the bench.
