Boston Trades:

Kendrick Perkins
Ray Allen
Big Baby Davis

Houston Trades:

Yao Ming
Shane Battier
(works in the trade checker)

In the short term this yr. this trade looks bad for the C's depth wise, But when we get a healthy Yao Ming back it could help Boston Big-Time with a Ming Garnett frontline. This trade also helps Houston compete in the Western conference with the lineup below, also Perkins & Big Baby get to play ball closer to their roots which may soften the blow of being traded away. I think they would be happy somewhat if the trade actually did happen.

C :Kendrick Perkins
PF:Glen Davis
SF:Trevor Ariza
SG:Ray Allen
PG:Aaron Brooks
6th man:Tracy McGrady

That is a pretty darn good lineup of young players if you leave out T-Mac & Ray Allen. 2 Large Contracts fall off of the books & they could make a serious run at Bosh & Wade. leaving them a lineup of

C:Kendrick Perkins
PF:Chris Bosh
SF:Trevor Ariza
SG:Dwayne Wade
PG:Aaron Brooks (Thats a serious championship contending roster)

Boston would finish 09' roster with a team of

C :Rasheed Wallace
PF:Kevin Garnett
SF:Shane Battier (Lebron & Kobe defender)
SG:Paul Pierce
PG:Rajon Rondo
6th: Marquis Daniels (Depth would be a issue, but we could contend still I believe)

2010 with Yao starting & Rasheed coming back off the bench would again make us serious contenders again with 2 true Franchise Players in the 2 most important positions in the NBA. Point Guard & Center! The blow of losing KG & Pierce also would be lessened if Yao was on board with us and could attract someone like Durant come 2012 seeing that Point Guard & Center is in place & he could be the hired gun to do his thing being that Shooting Guard-Small Forward postion would be vacant. I hope a made a good case why it could be beneficial but would you guys think of it?

I can't see giving up a shot at a title for a move for the future built around an injury-plagued player.

Can't trade two starters for a star that isn't likely going to play this season.  Team has to be able to still be a top contender this season.  Replacing Ray and Perk with Battier doesn't do that.

Yao's too much of a damaged commodity to be hanging any future hopes on.  he's out this year so kiss any title hopes goodbye.

Battier provides better defense but not the offensive threat of Ray.  PP's too old to spend the bulk of his time at SG.

that would be dumb Yao has gotten injured every season he's been in the league and Perk is becoming one of the best centers in the league. he's finally coming around I think people forget he never get to college.

Given my belief that Yao won't ever come close to even sniffing 75 games I'd have to say "no thanks".

It was my understanding that there's a very good chance Yao's nba career is essentially done.  The only time I'd trade away this team's title contention is in a move that would set up the team for years to come with a really good young player or two (that fit the mold of champion).
