I still like Lester, but IF he's in the NBA this year, he belongs on a team like Memphis, which is developing a nice core of young players, rather than on our team doing nothing.

That's why Danny should've let him go to Europe this year to develop, retained his rights as a 2nd rounder, then signed him next year.  Seriously, what was he expected to contribute this year for us?

Guys aren't exactly jumping at the opportunity to do this. You can't just assume he'd be willing.

I can't believe we didn't get value out of the 58th pick, I mean usually those guys turn into all-nba over night.  Way to screw up Danny, and Doc you totally stunted his growth here....

Told us what

One night Lester plays because Mayo is in serious foul trouble

The next he plays 100% of his minutes in basic garbage time, the closest his team being in the game while he was in being 15 points down

What happened to the 7 DNP-CDs in the 7 games before that

Lester Hudson is not that good

Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

It still makes me wonder if we were to cut Walker or Giddens could they go to a team like Memphis and produce?

I think Walker could, but I doubt Giddens could

I never said he was as of right now. If I had to choose based on this team needs I would've chose him over Eddie House because he could do a lot more. He guarded Kobe Bryant! lol put the ball on the floor and scored over him. put the ball on the floor and penetrated. The only thing Lester couldn't do for this team is the same for Memphis he cannot run plays (thats extremely due to lack of playing time, comfort, and confidence) he's still a rookie.

If you take house and Lester and used better judgement for this team needs you will see that he fit better, because of his ability to create his own shot, catch and shoot, dribble, penetrate etc... Eddie's in a shooting slump, he can;t dribble, he can't penetrate, can't create his own shot, can't pass, he's undersized, and he's only effective off the ball when his play is called. ::)

Lester Hudson is not that good

...but he can get better...but you need to keep guys around long enough to find that out.

exactly... Chauncy Billups, Delonte West and Joe Johnson were both thought of as not being good. look @ them now. Funny thing is they're the exact players the Celtics are scrambling for right now...lol

Brandon Hunter
Orien Greene
Allan Ray
Gerald Green
Justin Reed
Jiri Welsch
Marcus Banks
Patrick O'Bryant
Lester Hudson

All young players this GM and coach tried to give a chance to and were deemed
expendable and gotten rid of

All except Hudson have gone on to basically a meaningless cup of coffee NBA career

No young player they didn't give time to EVER have gone on to do anything

Joe Johnson and Chauncey Billups were another management team, not this one

I trust in Ainge and Rivers

I think Hudson will probably go back to have another long string of DNP-CDs once again because he isn't that good, even for Memphis to play him

Hudson got more regular playing time in Boston than he has gotten in Memphis

I honestly hope Hudson carves out a nice career for himself, but it's pretty funny that we're even discussing this as if he has already done something. The guy "killed" the Lakers by hitting 4 out of 10 in garbage time =).

UPDATE: 3-8 in garbage time against Cleveland too.

My best to the guy, but c'mon people!

Update: the only reason Lester Hudson is seeing playing time is because Sam Young has been out the last two games due to allergy related reactions

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/35192361/sports/player_news

Once Sam Young is back Hudson will once again be ringing up DNP-CDs

Funny, the only reason he saw playing time the last two games is because someone got hurt in front of him

Isn't that the same thing people say about all those young Celtics that Doc developed

But you conveniently left Dahntay Jones (the time he was waived not the time he was traded) and Will Bynum off your list didn't you!

No, I'm mostly kidding. But I'm still pulling for Hudson, a young player that has worked hard to get his life and basketball career turned around, and a young player that brought that same ethic and enthusiasm to Boston in his brief time here. Why shouldn't we show him some love?

I'm not kidding myself about his prospects, but I'm also not kidding myself that draft position, money, back room and front office politics don't play a real role in the careers of fringe NBA players.

Quote
“Man, Lester is bigger and stronger than me, so playing him forces me to get better, you know, ” Rondo explained to me in a slightly louder voice than he had previously displayed.  “Plus, I play him everyday, so I have to try new moves and do new things, and it pushes me to become more aggressive.”

Why so eager to tear Hudson down of a very low pedestal?

Did you watch the game? I saw Lester shooting confidently and defending Kobe Bryant admirably during the second quarter of a close game, that became a rout in large part because of the play of the Grizzlies' bench.

I think he made a really decent showing and should be proud of himself ... I'd like to see the kid do well, wherever he ends up. He's got to turn it on now, though, cuz I doubt he'll get many more chances to prove himself at this level.
