I think he'd have to go to jail, or at least be convicted of a heinous crime.

Now if Lebron did the exact same thing as Gilbert tomorrow and there was video tape on the net to prove it...maybe. But I doubt it.

Chris Paul, Kobe, and Yao are in similar boats I think, but I think they're pretty much the only ones like that.

I think he'd suspend LeBron if Bron did what Gilbert Arenas did.

The public + media backlash would be far greater. Stern would act forcefully to that.

he would treat james the way he treated jordan...jordan was deep into gambling and he "retired to play baseball"....that was a secret suspension for MJ

The thing is, Lebron isn't dumb enough to bite the hand that feeds him by mocking the situation.  I can't imagine him behaving like Arenas did in the aftermath of the situation.

I think I 90% agree with you but he's not immune to bad and badly timed situations. Plus I see him as somewhat overconfident. And he'd be supported by his team WAY more

No one is immune. KG isn't immune.

Lebron seems to be a high character type. He also has always had a grasp on the long term and tries to act responsibly to protect his image.

Considering that Stern fined Pierce $25,000 for making the "OK" sign that Stern interpreted as a gang symbol, if Lebron brought guns into a locker room, then mocked the press, famous political figures and Stern himself with immature Tweets, then went out and celebrated the situation by jokingly brandishing guns during a pre-game celebration, Lebron would be in the same boat as Arenas......gone for a good long while.

TP

While I can pretend the Pierce thing is just Stern trying to hate the Celts it's pretty hard to argue with the rest of that

But I don't think he'd suspend him indefinitely. Maybe like 25 games or something. A little less than Spree got

Apparently Stern was good friends with the owner of the Wiz who changed the name to the Wiz from the Bullets cause his good friend was assassinated

I guess Lebron wouldn't have that going against him too, but I don't think it would make that big a diff

From everything I have heard from people who have had direct dealings with LeBron, he's actually a really nice guy with a very good head on his shoulders and has been that way since he was a kid. I doubt LeBron would do anything remotely this egregious to earn Stern's wrath.

For all his self love and ego on the court, Lebron just is not in the same boat as Arenas, Marbury, Telfair, West and others with dumb off the court mistakes to bring attention to themselves.

It would be like the PGA indefinitely suspending Tiger.

It'll never happen.

I thought Yao was suspended for breaking his foot repeatedly?
