I'm game for it.

Do we have team budgets? I mean if I get the Kings, shudder, I shouldn't be spending 20 million over the tax.

Actually Edgar this is a no win no lose scenario Roy is looking at. So all we have to be afraid of is the Crotors ability to be formidable, as they always are.  ;D

If we can pick at night I'm in, otherwise I'll just follow it.
Ditto -- would love to participate but could only guarantee drafting time at night (boss kind of frowns upon non-work activities during the day---don't know why  ::)

i wanna play..

how do u play?

In a nutshell, on January 20 all members who are participating will be assigned a team.  Beginning with a team's "real life" roster, you select 2 players that you would like to keep.  You announce who those two players are by January 29 (i.e., if you were the Magic, you might decide to keep Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis.)

Once we have all the "keepers" selected, we'll do a draft with all the left over players.  You'd be given a draft slot based on your team's order of finish last year; the draft order is on the first page of this thread.  Then, when it's your turn to select, you can pick any player who hasn't been selected yet.

You can build a team however you like.  You can decide to build a team of the future, a win now team, a team that has a lot of cap space next year, etc., etc.  The freedom is all yours.  Trades are permitted at any time after the first round; you can trade players, picks, or any combination thereof.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Gainesville Celtic reporting for duty ---- even if i'm not 100% clear on the rules.

Sorry if i'm being dense... I'm clear on all but this from the OP:

Quote
Existing contracts are kept, and after all salaries are drafted, existing salary cap rules will go into effect.  The only caveat is that teams will enjoy a right-of-first-refusal on any contract signed by one of the two players they kept for the rest of their career.

Does this mean, for example, I couldn't deal Derrick Rose (rookie contract) for KG.... i.e. that trades have to work under the salary cap rules 125% +/- 100K?

And the right-of-first refusal part .... is this a "keeper" fake fantasy league... i.e. we'll be signing FAs next summer?!

either way....I'm in.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
I'll jump in, depending on draft times/dates.  State legislations are in session, gotta get paid somehow...
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Uno Mas.

Maybe.  Just because somebody has expressed interest doesn't mean they're necessarily guaranteed a team.

Bump.  We still have at least one slot open, and potentially more.  Sign up now.
