You know, that under the radar that can make a big difference in the playoffs that no one pays attention to at the deadline. 

I agree in principle, the problem is I think they will see it as much easier, and much likely cheaper to just sign one of the likely many buyout guys, rather than making that move through a trade.

Would a trade of Scal, Tony Allen, and Giddens for TJ Ford make sense for both teams?

TJ would be an expensive, but accomplished, backup to Rondo for a stretch run.

Scal would likely be bought out, and could return to Boston for cheap. Tony and Giddens are expiring contracts that would help Indiana get out from Ford's last year of his contract ($8.5 mil next year).

I think Ty Lue might be the acquisition around that time.  Other then that, I do not see us doing much. 

As good as this team can be, it is obvious that we still have two weaknesses (though one is bigger than the other).  No back up PG whatsoever and I still think we need a legit three to back up PP.  I like what Allen has been doing since he came back but to a large degree, him and Daniels overlap.  They both are smallish threes who can run some PG in a pinch.  Neither one can shoot a lick.  The difference between the two is that Daniels is smarter and Allen more athletic (admittedly, Daniels is the better player because of his versatility).

Money aside, I would love to have Posey back.  He would bring the heady play, spot up shooting, and defensive versatility that neither Daniels and Allen can bring.

As for the PG, I am thinking we will have to rely on getting someone of the scrap heap, which I am okay with.  Maybe Skip... but I am not sure.  Maybe Lue?  I just am not sure than the right guy will be available to I would concentrate on the SF position instead.
