What do you guys think? I honestly think he could be capable of it if the team looked to feed him in the post. The guy has really come a long way with his post up game. He'll never be a go-to scorer but he can put points on the board.

No. Being a main option means handling double-teams - either scoring through it or finding the open man. Perk has no ability to do that. With that said, his game has improved to the point that he can reliably create high-percentage shots for himself against most centers in the league, and that has played a significant role in several of our wins this year - tonight included.

Yes... but I can not imagine a team where he would be their first option. What team in the nba are you thinking?

Definitely not 20 points, not clear that he can do the 10 rebounds either.

Of course, depending a lot on what PG he was playing with ... but he's NOT on a bad team, he's on the Celtics, and I guarantee you he'll get some of those same numbers here.

One of the reasons why Perkins is playing so well is because Doc is going the extra mile to conserve his big men by cutting their minutes.
Put Perkins on a team who needs him to play 35-38 minutes night in and night out, and there is no telling what the outcome would be.

Nope, at least not yet. I think 15/16 points + 10/11 rebounds per game is possible.

As far as rebounding goes, we are a bad team and he doesnt average 10 rebounds a game. I doubt he averages quite 20 points a game either.

Yes and no. I think he could easily match Gasol's scoring total but doing so in different ways. His efficiency would likely drop from the lofty 60% several points, but not too much.
Gasol is an excellent passer out of the post and doubles. Perkins is solid but could improve.

I would say he is more of a 16-10 guy on the high end, but who knows.
He is the man though.

Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
No. There are only two 20/10 guys in the NBA right now (in terms of points and rebounds): Chris Bosh and Zach Randolph.
I don't think his stats would massively improve if he was a primary scoring option on a bad team. For all his offensive improvement, a lot of Perk's points are still generated by his teammates. I can see something like 14/9, but definitely not 20/10.

being a first option would force him to get better to handle the double teams. I think Perk can get better than he is now. He is in his fourth year and still improving with each year.

If he could average 10 rebounds, he'd be doing it now. 20 and 10 is pushing it, but 16 or 17 and 9 is possible at the level he's at now. But the thing is, he keeps improving. So who knows what he will be capable of in another year or two.

Yes. Maybe not immediatly but with enough minutes and enough touches it would happen eventually. He is still young and improving every year. 40 mpg and 20 attempts probably would do it. The question is would you want perk shooting as many shots as kobe or lebron. That would be fun to watch.
