I am not sure how we can think he will ever be able to stay healthy for a long playoff run without KG. We better hope Rasheed Wallace finds the fountain of youth for us as well!

I do not want to relive the aging of the great 80's Celtics again but it appears to me it has already begun. The big difference though is we have a good base of youth to rebuild from(Rondo and Perk). Hopefully, Danny can figure a way to bridge the aging/injured talent to keep us on the high road.

Television report this morning said closer to 10 days ... either way, it's getting discouraging. I'm beginning to wonder if they brought him back too soon ... if maybe they should have left him out a while longer at the beginning of the season.  ???

Danny had always said that Red should have pulled the trigger on a trade while there was still a window for some variation of Bird/McHale/Parrish to win more titles.

Well, now its time for Danny to step up as the GM and pull off at least 1 trade. I would hate to see either PP or KG traded. Want PP to retire a Celtic, and believe that the few teams that could afford KG would be highly skeptical of his physical condition in light of recurring knee injuries (even if different as represented by Cs).

So, that leaves moving RA much to the consternation of his fans here. He is indeed a class act, but many are now seeing that his D has dropped off considerably these past 2 years. He may be in excellent physical shape, but younger stars are passing him by, both literally on the court, and figuratively.

What can Danny get for Ray and his expiring contract for teams interested in pursuing members of the upcoming Free Agent class?

Wait so on Jan. 6th they say 1 to 2 weeks.

4 days later they say 10 to 14 days and everyone freaks out? Or did I miss a new prognosis? I'll be worried if by Friday they're still saying two weeks.

it looks to me like a lot of people on here are freaking out about nothing. It sounds like he is working out, doctors are happy, and he will be back soon. He looked pretty good for a long stretch before this injury, and being overly cautious is exactly what they should be doing with him at this point in the season, so why all the negativity? The team is giving more minutes to Davis which will help him to be much better prepared come playoff time, and they are playing quite well against some pretty good teams despite all the injuries they have had, I think it all bodes well for the playoffs.

Yeah, really ... nothing has changed, I think some are just looking for more reasons to worry after another loss. We were blown out once, in Phoenix (18pts), but our average margin in the other nine games is 5.88, despite the injury problems we've had ... I just don't see much to worry about at this point.

Just like last year... 1 more week...
1 week later: 2 more weeks...
1 week later: couple of games...
1 week later: by next game...
1 week later: for the last game of the season...
some days later: for the beginning of the playoffs...
once playoffs started: out for the season!

You get the idea!

You want to trade KG when he's already practicing again after a minor knee injury that didn't even require surgery?

And DL, I have no inside information, but I have a sinking feeling that this may be exactly why he is sitting so long.

Danny may be wanting him 100% healthy more for trade purposes than for a playoff run.  We'd better get something truly special in return if my feeling is right.

My main concern is that if and when KG comes back, what is to make me think that he can stay healthy. With an injury like he had last year, it is foolish of me to believe that he can stay on the court and help us for prolonged periods of time. Older, heavily used bodies of bigs do not suddenly get better in their 30's..this is a fact. After last year, I do not trust the company line of what is wrong with KG anyway. For obvious reasons, they do not want to demoralize the fan base so without us being in their locker room, it is hard to know what is true and what is not.

I would almost be more happy bringing him back a few weeks before playoffs begin with about 20-25 minutes/game and hope and pray for him being able to stay on court during playoffs for us. A 50-75% KG for 25 minutes a game can still make a huge difference for us, especially with Wallace on our team. It also gives Danny a chance in next month to figure out if we need another piece to compliment what we have and what we will have.

The old days of KG for 38 minutes a game are over. His body is not the same. It is Doc and Danny's job to figure out a way to maximize the basketball life that is left in KG without running him into the ground. We need him to compete for a title. I would rather have a 4-7 seed with KG being able to play then a 2-3 seed with KG out of our lineup.

I am reluctant to say anything anti-KG, cuz I love the guy and he's so much of what Ubuntu is about ... but then these thoughts keep sneaking into my head like: Is anyone else thinking Bosh? Hmmmmm .....

KG is absolutely completely untradeable at this point.

Look at his contract, look at the injury concerns, and look at his declining play. Unless we're taking back god awful contracts (Eddy Curry-esqe) we're not trading KG.
