Injuries happen, but as a fan, I'm starting to feel the same sense of frustration as last year.  I'd much prefer "no comment" to "I haven't asked".  There's no need to lie to the fans, and there's absolutely no way I believe that Doc truly hasn't asked about the availability of his star player.

I think "no comment" on how long KG will be out would set off an absolute firestorm. Many of the posts on this board, for example, would contain the word "career" follwed by the word "ending". In all fairness to Doc, he knew last week that (if you believe him) it wasn't serious and it would be 2-3 weeks. It's likely the case that he hasn't asked since but I'm sure he'd be informed if KG were iminently returning or if he took a turn for the worse. I can't believe that anyone here would is really under the impression that Doc never asked once when KG will be back.

Bball Tim with the very sensible response.  TP.  You are correct that the words 'No Comment' would open the door to speculation wide open.  It is entirely plausible that Doc didn't ask if KG was ready if he doesn't expect KG to be ready for 2 more weeks.

Well he was already supposed to be out another week right? I heard 2-3 weeks was the timeline last story.

Doc's playing dumb is annoying, but not suprising.

You're right, 2-3 weeks was the original timeline, I just checked it. So Doc's latest estimation makes his return right on the initial schedule.

Still, I hate when Doc answers about KG with quotes like "I don't know" and "I don't ask", it's annoying and it usually means he will be out longer than expected, and Doc doesn't want to say it straight.

Hopefully it's not the case this time and KG will be back when he was expected to but I'm still worried.
I like Doc not answering these questions because too many fans can't understand the concept of an estimate. They rant when the predictions don't turn out to be exact. Isn't that the nature of these kinds of injuries?

KG isn't the only player who this has happened to. Every season there are many players in the league who have elusive comeback dates, or who come back for part of one game and then are back on the shelf for a few weeks as the team hopes they will get better.

Yeah  but in KG's case his return was reported every time last year, he made a comeback, then was shut down once again and never came back... so you can understand the concern here with Doc's elusive quotes. I would like to think that he is honest but it's hard to considering the staff's recent lies and hiding about KG's health.

So in other words we're just spinning ourselves in circles over no new news?

Gotcha!  ;)

I'm really bad at maths. ;D

However if KG is out two more weeks, it will be one week more than initally planned, right?

I don't think fans are entitled to know every detail about an injury.  All I expect is that what information is provided to the media will be accurate.

TP.  I, for one, am with Roy.  If the Celtics management doesn't want to share with us the extent of KG's injury and how long he'll truly be out, that's fine.  Just please don't lie to our faces about it.
