According to Doc, who "didn't" even "ask" ( ::)) :

Quote
*Kevin Garnett (right knee) was with the team but Rivers said he could be out "another week or two weeks. I haven't asked." Garnett was not on the court when the media was allowed into shootaround and he was not available for comment.

Source : The Globe

It's starting to sound very familiar to what happened last year and I don't like it at all.

Doc is so annoying when he wants to give the impression that he doesn't care about KG's duration of absence, like it's not serious and to be worried about. The staff is just fooling us on KG's health.

Injuries happen, but as a fan, I'm starting to feel the same sense of frustration as last year.  I'd much prefer "no comment" to "I haven't asked".  There's no need to lie to the fans, and there's absolutely no way I believe that Doc truly hasn't asked about the availability of his star player.

I don't think fans are entitled to know every detail about an injury.  All I expect is that what information is provided to the media will be accurate.

If all here is true well its time for Sheed to step up and earn that big payday  on a consistent basis and not a game here/there.

Well he was already supposed to be out another week right? I heard 2-3 weeks was the timeline last story.

Doc's playing dumb is annoying, but not suprising.

I think "no comment" on how long KG will be out would set off an absolute firestorm. Many of the posts on this board, for example, would contain the word "career" follwed by the word "ending". In all fairness to Doc, he knew last week that (if you believe him) it wasn't serious and it would be 2-3 weeks. It's likely the case that he hasn't asked since but I'm sure he'd be informed if KG were iminently returning or if he took a turn for the worse. I can't believe that anyone here would is really under the impression that Doc never asked once when KG will be back.

Looks like we better not trade Scalabrine. :P ;) :P
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Why not? All those minutes and no production. Get this guy off the team.

I think the knee or whatever is probaby bugging him a  bit more than they are saying, but I also think they dont want to A) show their hand and B) give a day or a date because if that day or date comes and he is still 80% they will have  a bigger problem. I truly think they are just trying to get him as close to good as possible, similar to when ray had his ankles done before he joined us and we didnt find out till the next yr he played with pain all yr. KG is too important to this team so I dont care if he sits till the all star break  if that is what needs to happen do it... better now than in June...

Too bad McHale is no longer in charge in Minnesota, we could have the KG trade rescinded and get Big Al back.  ;)

Oh, freakin' great. Maybe in two weeks they can tell us he's out for 2 more weeks. Sick. Then we can desperately hold on to hope as they delay and delay his supposed "return", until the g-[dang] season is over and we lose in the second round.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

You're right, 2-3 weeks was the original timeline, I just checked it. So Doc's latest estimation makes his return right on the initial schedule.

Still, I hate when Doc answers about KG with quotes like "I don't know" and "I don't ask", it's annoying and it usually means he will be out longer than expected, and Doc doesn't want to say it straight.

Hopefully it's not the case this time and KG will be back when he was expected to but I'm still worried.

I thought that the team said a few days ago that Garnett would be out 10 days (after calling his absence in the Phoenix game a "strategic rest). So, he was supposed to return around January 10th. Instead, he won't return sooner than 20th, very probably later. I think it's safe to say there was some kind of setback.

bingo!
'sheed is still one of the most effective low post scorers in the nba, when he is playing at his top game he's great, why doesn't he play at that level all the time  ??? age , doesn't care  ???
as for kg i think bill belishek (sorry bill don't follow fb) has transformed the coach into a cia operative

Call me a Nervous Nellie (not as in Don Nelson), but I'd like Rondo's 91% healthy hamstring to be home on KG's couch, so the two could watch the game--and slowly heal together.

And whaddaya wanna bet it's KG's operated-on knee that never recovered right, and their only hope now is to rest it and rest it and rest it.
