Just bored in the classroom and someone mentioned that it is a small rumor

Boston trades Ray, Rondo, Scali, 1st, 2nd and cash

Receives Paul, Peja, Arthur, and Haddadi.  (will have to waive or trade Hudson, Walker or JR)

NO trades Paul, Peja, and Armstrong

Receives Ray, Rondo, Williams (and trims about 8 million off the books this year + any tax savings.  15 million + next year) and Bos 1st

Mem (added to get around the BYC and PPP) trade Arthur, Haddadi and Williams

Recieves Scali, Armstrong, Bos 2nd and cash.

Memphis actually adds a player that improves them.

I know.  Long shot.

I hate to say it but I would trade Rondo for Chris Paul.

Looks like teams are trying to make a grab at Paul

Quote
Did Spurs go after Paul?
12:51
PM ETChris Paul | Hornets Top Email The Spurs struggled to find their footing out of the gate, but after some solid play of late, they finally find themselves as one of the best teams in the league, as they rank second in ESPN's John Hollinger's power rankings.

But according to Steve Kyler of HOOPSWORLD, they aren't content to stand pat. Kyler reports that the Spurs recently inquired about a Chris Paul for a package including Tony Parker swap with the Hornets, but were immediately shot down.

Teams have tried prying Paul out of New Orleans before, and the fact that the Hornets are around $500,000 over the luxury-tax zone and are trying to get out of paying any tax means teams can make a bold offer such as this if it means they can give the Hornets the luxury-tax relief they are seeking.

The rumored deal might have given the Hornets just enough money relief to get under the tax threshold, and getting Parker in return wouldn't have been a horrible move by the Hornets, though Paul certainly is younger and the better talent.

Anyway you slice it, it looks like this deal isn't happening.

I wouldn't do the deal even if it was a possibility. Pass first PG's (Rondo) are a rarity in the league, and we have the best shooter in the league in Ray. Why do you blow up the back court for Chris Paul? Simply, you don't. He would mess up every dynamic of this potential championship team. The reason CP3 looks so good is because the ball is always in his hands. I'm not saying he isn't a great player...I'm just saying I would never even consider doing this trade, IMHO. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
