Doc, could you put someone else besides Ray on Wade. He does have 14 18pts in the first quarter. :'(

Some of the worst defense the Celtics have played all year, allowing 35 first quarter points to a marginal offensive team.  Wade is the only prolific scorer but the C's have chosen to let him destroy Ray Allen so far tonight.  These aren't the offensive stalwart Warriors or Suns, they are the barely over .500 Miami Heat.

Hopefully the C's will wake up and play some defense tonight.

I missed the last few minutes due to computer problems, but it looks like our D is still not there. :-\
You didn't miss much. Bad defense, bad out of control Tony drive for an offensive foul, bad defense and bad Tony run down the other end and line drive heave and miss to end the quarter.

What was that call? No one said anything about it.

Horrible call against Baby there. Haslem was gifted on that drive.

It should be an entertaining game, and one that is very winnable.

The matchup I don't like is Ray on Wade.  Pierce's defense on Dwayne Wade was significantly better than Ray's, and I don't think that Ray's feet on defense can keep up with Wade.  I really do hope Tony does the majority of defending Wade.

I think the Celtics are really going to miss Rondo in this game, since the tempo and lack of good interior defense by the heat would have been ideal for him.

It feels like forever since the Celtics have played! lol

Well my big concern a few days ago was Ray on Wade, and quite clearly I don't get why Tony Allen is in the game and NOT guarding D-Wade..  Doc kills me.  Ray Allen absolutely cannot guard Wade.

The good news is that once the Celtics "D" shows up, they should be in a good position.  Rasheed is playing great.  He does so many little things that go unnoticed by most people, but I'd say he's playing the best of anyone tonight.  Good to see Pierce and Rondo back on the court.

I checked play by play and they said Shelden Williams was called. I didn't see anything.

However, I love the Rondo/TA connexion. :)

The two things Scal always brought to the table were hustle and an ability to shoot --- well at least he still hustles...

Rondo is doing everything so far, he keeps us in the game. Scal is just plain awful, Doc should bench him and never play him again. He almost lost a possession because he couldn't secure a rebound (he is not used to get rebounds) and he can't hit from three. Useless on both ends.

Is there any way that Celtic Blog can get a counter that keeps up with how many shots Scal misses in a row?

Rondo's passing makes Tony so much more effective as a player. If only Tony could learn to not try to dribble the ball up the court when Rondo is on the court with him. That's like the 4th or 5th ball handling turnover he has had bringing the ball up the court while Rondo is on the court with him this year.
