Pierce lists himself as "day to day" and I guess you can these absences as bad news because the Heat can be a tough opponent but I feel like it's a good opportunity for JR and Lester to play more minutes and show their worth Wednesday!

I think this is a little misleading title.  It is still up in the air whether Pierce and Rondo will play on Wednesday.  There is still another whole day of practice, and then game day for things to change.

Very tough match up for us minus KG, Pierce and Rondo but...I always welcome the opportunity to put the young guys feet to the fire. If either Lester or JR play quite well, it could be a mini growth spurt for them that could translate to a few more productive minutes here and there as the season progresses or just move them a bit further along in the careers.

I actually wouldn't be suprised to see Doc play Walker some on Beasley, as the two probably played against each other add nauseum in college.

I'm always amped to see the young guys try to cut it in a real time, intense game situation. You really hope they can shine a little, have a good outing and grow a bit. It can be tough but it's also fun to see what they do.

D-Wade sleep walks his way in the 1st half in most games. If we build up a big lead before he wakes up. We can win this game early. JR can earn a rotation spot if he can contain Dwyane Wade.

True, thanks for changing it, there is still plenty of time before the game but I feel like it would be better to give them more rest before the Atlanta game.

JR can earn a rotation spot if he can contain Dwyane Wade.

And Scal can earn his starter spot if he can hold LeBron to 15 points or less in at least three consecutive games.

Any breathing or non-breathing body who can contain D-Wade or LeBron, deserves to have an automatic pass into the Hall of Fame.

Is that a total of 15 points over 3 games? Because that would be hard, even for Scal.

May I ask what you think they're actual worth is? personally, I hope they don't show their actual worth but show something a whole lot more because I really don't think they are worth all that much. They are basic 13th-15th players on the end of an NBA bench with some NBA skills but probably a very short NBA career, like 2-4 years tops.

I hear you, but I don't believe the story is told yet on either Hudson or Giddens.  Either one still has a viable chance at a decent career.  Still young, both athletic -- we'll see what they make of themselves.  Late bloomers happen -- Bruce Bowen and Adrian Griffin are 2 C's names that come to mind -- and JR and Lester are still pretty young.

I don't know what their actual worth is since they never play (or only in garbage time). I guess you could say that there is a reason they don't play but you know Doc and his attitude towards rookies or sophomores, especially when he has plenty of vets at disposal.

I was not specially for playing all the "kids" during the season when everyone is healthy, but don't you think that, when we are missing three starters and Marquis, this is the perfect time to give them some playing time and see if they can contribute on the short-term (and hopefully on the long-term)? What's the risk? Losing the game? It's not like we had great chances of winning it in the first place.

And I would rather see Giddens, Hudson and Walker play - both with potential and athletic abilities, pretty decent skills, but lack of experience - extended minutes than Scalabrine - experience but no skills whatsoever -, if you ask me. He is basically the 16th player on a 15 man roster.

I agree, Drucci, (TP) but there are many here who feel that giving extra experience to the "bench-warmers" is a waste of time, (see "Injuries ... Blessing In Disguise?) ... kinda sad, because the fact is that they are going to get extra time due to injuries whether people like it or not, and the very least they should get is support from the fans, (a consideration we would all hope for ourselves, in the same situation), since they certainly get it from the other players and the coaches. Well said, D.

What? I'm confused, do you think those of us who aren't enthused about playing the kids are booing them from our seats or homes while we watch the games?
