Tony has been balling out since returning...After all the ridiculous abuse hes been receiving, I would like hear a little support on this guys behalf.

Tonight he had a terrific game.  As well as all this year hes been fantastic.  Sure he has had a few bonehead plays but so hasnt everyone else.  Hes had many more good ones to make up for it.  Hes not the brightest player, but i think his mistakes are more exacerbated than any other persons around.  As a 2nd unit spark plug hes absolutely perfect.

He played role of PG tonight and did a great job.  He can handle a difficult defensive assignment.  He comes off the bench, he can start.  Hes a very versatile weapon this team has and we should be happy we have him.

One of the main problems this team has is bringing energy, and this is Tony's strength. Too many times, this team becomes complacent and stands back.  Tony forces the issue, for better or for worse, it gets things going...

All i want to hear is a little positive Tony talk after all the negative stuff we have been hearing for the last year and a half.  Tony's been terrific and deserves to be recognized for it.

I've been down on Tony in the past, and while I still take this with a grain of salt, I gotta give credit where it's due, and say that Tony has been playing well for us, and giving us some spark and energy both off the bench and tonight as a starter. I have always said that he is an amazing athlete, and his physical skills are truly phenomenal, it's the head and personality stuff that do him in, but maybe he can turn that around ... the human spirit is unlimited when it comes to such things. Let's just hope he stays healthy ... he went down with what looked like a shoulder thing tonight, and I hope it's nothing major. (TP)

I've only been a Celtics fan since my favourite player KG moved from Minnesota, so I may not be qualified to speak on this, but...

It seems to me that a lot of the Tony hate comes from his play during that playoff series against Chicago. He did make a lot of boneheaded plays, but coming off an injury layoff coupled with death threats can do that to you. So I feel that a good portion of the Tony hate is unfair.

He looks sloppy but he's been playing well.  He gets his hand on a ton of balls on defense that aren't counted by any stat.  He also has an uncanny ability to get nailed while driving to the hoop, taking the contact, and still finishing the play.
He looks healthy and he's playing well, but I keep noticing the loss of athleticm from all the injuries.  He's still a great athlete, but he used to be an absolute freak, so explosive and quick.  It's not hindering his play at all though.  I wonder if he used to be a little too explsosive athletically for his mind.  I hope he can stay healthy and in a groove, because he's contributing a lot right now.

I'm usually a Tony basher but I have to admit he has been playing very well this season and I'm glad to watch him play efficiently. He plays with a passion and reacts after every play (good or bad), and his contribution has been very good so far.

I'm still doubtful that he can contribute during the whole season and the playoffs but I definitely would like him to keep it up so we don't have to trade for a wing (although a wing who can shoot would be better since the Marquis/TA combo wouldn't be very good in that matter).

Trust me, the lack of love for Tony extends far, far beyond one playoff series.  The guy has made an entire career out of dumb mistakes, both on and off the floor.

Agree, he has nowhere near the explosive athletic freakiness he used to possess....

There was a play in the first half after a small scrum where he got it down low in traffic, got a shot off jumping to his right and got fouled.  On that play I thought to myself that he would have dunked if he'd had his old body...

I wish him good luck and I hope they encourage him to keep his head up even after mistakes...tell him to pick a demeanor he likes and try to imitate it (I'd go with Rondo's)

TA is back in the one spot where he is a positive for a team.  He is starting.

Unfortunately for him, he will soon be returning to the bench where we see the player that frustrates so many of us.

I thought he was so-so last night.  Made some boneheaded passes and, more than once, dribbled himself into trouble. Also bit on a headfake pretty bad on the defensive end  However, he showed a lot energy out there last night chasing the ball all over the place and made some big shots.

Like Belichick says "He is who he is".

He had those bad moments, but overall he played well and produced. If Tony plays at this level, off the bench or starting, he'll be useful to the team. At the very least he should keep Scal glued to the bench once everyone is healthy.

I love Tony's game. He and Rondo wreak havoc when on the court together. Honestly, I'd love to see him start and Ray be our super 6th man. But, Ray's ego may still be too large for this and I expect Tony to get hurt any game now. :'(
