The c's I believe still have the "kill mode" attitude, but they don't have the skill level of players nor health to accommodate for that "kill mode" persona.
I've said it plenty of times that besides health and new energy, James Posey was the key reason to the C's success in the championship year. Too bad Danny didn't think so, but its true and its shown since he left. Posey played the 1 (defensively) and off ball shooting 3's, 2, 3, 4 and even 5 position @ times. His quickness and length bothered guys like Kobe, Lebron etc... especially when Pierce is on his wing and KG, and Perk is covering the middle. It was impossible to break through the defense (KOBE HATED IT) lol, he said himself. He hasn't that since the post James Posey era, why because its no longer there. He rebounded, took charges, boxed out effectively, all the little things you'll want out of a defender plus more coming from a guy off the bench.
Offensively, He was too good of a threat to be left open on the wing for threes, but teams were forced to gamble because a Paul Pierce needed a double team, a KG needed one also, and Ray Allen needed a guy glued on to him at all times. Really teams had to "pick their poison" a phrased used a lot during the championship year when House, Ray, Pierce, K.G. and K.P. were on the floor. This team no longer has a versatile consistent outside threat like posey (our closest match is unfortunately SCAL, and Rasheed 2 whom are very inconsistent), Eddie House is a hit or miss, Ray is a hit or miss, and the rest of the guys are either injured or too much attention is paid to them so they find their shooters, but their shooters don't capitalize so the "Kill Mode" persona seems to be irrelevant, because it is.
