Even though there are players hurt and we haven't had a team full strength in awhile,i feel Danny need to make some moves to strength the bench before playoff time.Rasheed scares me and we still need a decent backup sf and another rebounder.
I'm with you about Rasheed.  It looks like Danny really overestimated what he has left in the tank.  And the really scary part is that this is just the first year of three!

Except for his shooting slump, Rasheed is playing great D all the time, he's got an excellent game in the post (sure, he doesn't use it a lot but he will go to it more in the playoffs if needed), and he stretches the floor on O.

However, although I still think he is in a slump, I do agree that Sheed's shooting numbers from three are really starting to concern me. Maybe it's more than a slump ; if that's the case, Sheed should play more with his midrange game and go to the post at times.

Also, I think that the problem with our bench is that it was built to play together, as a unit. When Marquis is out, House and Sheed's productivity drop a lot because Marquis is a playmaker and the only guy who can create his own shot (Sheed too with his post-up moves but it's different).

Although I would be glad if Danny added a productive wing on the bench, I think it's not fair to throw Sheed and House under the bus when we expect more of them because of injuries to Pierce, KG, Glen and Marquis. The unit of a starter (usually Ray or Paul) + House + Marquis + Sheed + Shelden was really efficient. Now you have to play House + Ray + T.A + Shelden + Sheed. See the difference? There are only three offensive threats in Sheed, Ray and House, not to mention that House can't create his own shot, that Ray struggles at it, and that T.A and Shelden are totally useless offensively if they are not playing with 4 other offensive threats.

Remember the first 6 games of the season? The bench was just great and when we are healthy again and all our rotation players are healthy at the same time (I hope it will happen...), then the bench will have another dimension. Imagine this unit : House + Ray/Paul + Marquis + Big Baby + Sheed. Scary!

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Scary? Of course I would be scared.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Exactly, and we have a few more yrs.to go with him...either he has to change and elevate his game or Danny better get someone else in there.I read somewhere last night where Sheed is having his worst season as a pro.I am usually more patient with a veteran player but it doesn't look like he came in camp in shape.I know techs are not a real big deal during the regular season but if you can't put a lid on it now, what makes me think he can in a crucial playoff game.Sheed and Perk lead the NBA with techs.(10ea.)...thats doesn't look like a player who is trying to improve.(imo)

All i care about is, we beat Cleveland AND Orlando, both on the road. That's the sign of a good team. When we're healthy, we'll take care of business and win the darn thing. No worries here.

People are reading too much on the losses to the Clippers and the Warriors. Close losses don't tell you anything substantially different than close wins about the quality of a team.

Just like the Celtics last season weren't as good as you thought after that 27-2 start or whatever with tons of closes wins, they weren't "exposed" or anything for losing those 2 games. If you'd be less worried if they had finished the trip with a 3-1 record instead of a 1-3 one, you're just putting too much importance on a couple of shots.
