Regarding this 'controversy', what's 'huge' about it? Rumours, media people, backstabbin', gossip....who cares? It's all untrue, usually, anyway, and not worth listening to unless you thrive on that kind of stuff. And it only creates negativity. I like to see the good side of people and take each player as I see him, face on and how he presents himself. That's enough for me - and now let's watch basketball.
If someone will please tell me how to take someone else's comment and green highlight it, so I can respond to it, I will give you a tp. Thanks.

ESPN more like TMZ.

Yep.  ESPN is in one business -- drawing eyeballs to its website and tv channel.  That's it.  Question: How many people reading this topic clicked through to ESPN?  Answer: More than a couple, i'd guess.

Wasn't Ric Bucher the one that was reporting that Kobe would never wear a Lakers uniform again? Sounds to me like someone couldn't find a real story to talk about so lets resurrect some old news to stir up a new controversy. Actually I think at times TMZ has more credibility than ESPN.

I didn't see a whole lot of drama from the players like expected. Actually they were getting blowed out & yet some of the guys were communicating ways to run the offense or defense better from the hand movements & brief words I was hearing from the bench area. Up close & personal, what I saw is Perk needs to calm down his vengeance with the refs. I think it starts to effect the calls Boston gets & also it effects his game. He was the only guy I saw visually upset everytime he came to the bench. But in his defense, he & Eddie House were the only guys playing to win the game. All the other players it seemed from courtside was just going through the motions. All in all it was a tough loss but I didnt see a fractured team!

I listened to the podcast and it's just ridiculous... Simmons has no arguments whatsoever, he basically wanted to tell his listerners that he seated courtside the Celtics bench. Wow, what a privilege Simmons! And so, because he was so close to the bench he needed to start a controversy to appeal more listeners.

He did the same thing at the beginning of last season with the Hornets.

And though I agree Sheed is not in great shape, he is not as out of shape as Bucher and Simmons say he his ; plus, he never watches Celtics games because he basically said that Sheed didn't ever get into the post since he's been there. Yeah, right.

A podcast full of crap and nothing to take from it. We know the only "infighting" occurred last year at the end of the season, but the Celtics have moved on.

That's Simmons for you.  Over the past several seasons, he's repeatedly thrown the Celtics and the organization under the bus.  From talking about the imaginary staples in KG's knee, to panning the Rasheed signing, to his repeated criticism of the Rondo negotiations, to this, Simmons has shown nothing more than that he loves to attack our team.  Rumor has it that this is because he isn't getting the access to the team that he'd like, but who knows the truth of it?  His issues with the team are palpable, though.

At the same time, he recently wrote that the 2009-10 Lakers may go down as one of the very best teams of all-time, after of course predicting that the Cavs couldn't be stopped last year, and the Lakers would crush us in 2008.

I just listened to the podcast and think Simmons broke one of the cardinal rules of journalism.  He is using what he saw of the Celtics against the Clippers and is making season-wide conclusions.. off of that one game.  Did he not see Rasheed the game before?  Rasheed played GREAT defense on Howard, he played in the post of offense, showed up to play, and was one of the big reasons the Celtics beat Orlando w/o Pierce.  Rasheed is clearly not washed up, he just needs to "bring it" every game.

I will say there is at least something to what Bucher is getting at with Rondo/Perk.  Those two guys have their contracts and have progressed to a level that they are being recognized.  I can fully imagine KG going into long tirades/lectures, and I can tell you that if a co-worker is constantly lecturing you then you begin to resent them.  This is one of the likely reasons that you hear KG in the news praising Rondo;  I bet Doc is pushing him to stay positive.  However, on the court, I don't think they are letting it get in the way of winning.

Again, Simmons is full of junk... he says the Celtics, when healthy, are not capable of winning the championship... yet he provides no team that would win!  If the Celtics are healthy, who beats them?  So far, I don't see anyone.

I don't know I seem to remember everyone scoffing at Simmons when he said something about how we resigned Cassell because he was the only one Rondo would listen too. Then a year later Ainge and others start leaking the story about how big a pain in the ass rondo is and how he doesn't always listen.

Also I think he was right about some of the KG stuff before most of us knew about it. And I do agree, for the most Part Sheed is going half speed.

That being said I doubt theres a rift, I'm pretty sure Perk loves playing with KG if anything its more of Rondo being Rondo

From everything I've seen on the court the last three years the two players that seem to be on the best terms are KG and Rondo.

It seems to me that this all water under the bridge. The team unity seems real good. What is killing this team is injuries right now. That Doc has to play his deep bench players more minutes then he wants to. Still this losing skid is not fun.
