1)The C's win the first 6 games of the year in blow out fashion.

The blog is talking about the C's setting a record for win in a season and being the best defensive team of all time

2)They lose 3 Friday nights in a row at home to 3 of top 10 teams in the NBA. Pho, Atl , Orlando

The blog say its all over , The C's are too old and not athletic enough to hang with these teams. Sheed is all done etc...

3)The C's go on to win 11 in a row and 14 of 15 including a xmas day win against Oralndo without PP or Daniels and BBD seeing his first action of the year

The blog is talking about how we are clearly the toughest and best team in the league to be able to win on xmas day in orlando without our captain and a good bench player.

4) The C's lose back to back games against average at best teams in LAC and GSW

The fire Doc posts start to come out and we clearly need to make a move .

Lets all calm down a little bit. Doc is going nowhere, chances are we are not going to be making any big trades, and we are still one of the best 2 teams in the league !

 - In 2007-2008 this team came out with fire every night because they were trying to prove themselves. No one on the team had ever won a championship besides James Posey and they had to get some very young players in Rondo, Perk, BBD and Powe to learn how to play winning ball. Thats why the intensity was so high that year. They hardly had any injuries during the regular seasn.

- In 2008-2009 they started the season with the best record ever through 30 games going 27- 3 . There was no doubt they were the best team in the EC before KG got hurt. Even without KG the C's pushed the eventual EC champions to 7 games.

Don't compare this years C's to the last 2. Of course our record isnt as good as last years, it was the BEST START OF ALL TIME , but last year we also didn't have key injuries in the beginning of the season. PP,BBD, TA and Daniels have all missed a good amount of games and the C's are still 1st in the EC and 2nd in overall record.

When Fully healthy the C's have these things going for them

- Best defensive team in the league
- Best shooting and most efficient offense in the league
- The best starting 5 in the league
- 3 HOF'S
- a stud PG
- The best post defender in the league
- One of the best benches in the league, much better than LA

Lets just wait til at least February when we hopefully have a fully healthy roster before we start to panic.

This is all true - and it reveals the true character of the blog - but I don't think people always believe what they say after a bad loss. I know I don't, I'm just venting. I really, really hope people aren't serious...some of the stuff that's said on here....

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I don't believe "The Blog" said anything...posters on the blog give their individual opinions...some are optimistic, some not...That is why we are here, so that opinions can be expressed.

I do agree with you that it is too early to panic, but I seldom panic over anything anyway, and especially about sports.  Panic is mandatory in some people,  ;D

Are any sports blogs not "bi-polar"?  I think it is kind of the nature of being a sports fan (or at least a Boston sports fan) to react strongly to all of the ups and downs.  The forums here give us a place to vent, and discuss these ups and downs with others who are going through the same things...and in many cases, I think it helps to level everyone out a bit.

To be honest though, I think the latest "panic" has been relatively understated.  While there are some vocal voices seemingly on the edge of panic (partictularly when you read the thread titles), when you really read all of the posts, it seems like on the whole, the forums are pretty balanced at the moment.

But even when things do go crazy, that is part of the fun.

Besides, it is interesting that a poster with a "double name" is calling the blog bipolar :D

haha I admit to having panicked before in the past making up crazy trade idea's but it just seems like its much more negative lately , but I dont read every single post so maybe it's not . I was just trying to point out that its not all bad and if Danny can make a move that will improve the team or add depth he will, but he can't even do that until we get everyone healthy around February .

To be honest, I think a bit of the problem is that so many people are not at work/school this week...meaning they are also not on celticsblog all day (gotta love america!).  This has led to there being fewer posts to filter out, and more of the negative ones from the same people standing out.

A group of people can't be bipolar. Its a medical condition that affects a single individual, and his/her family of course. The idea that being bi-polar is "bad" and that it can be dealt with by just "calming" down is vexing to me, and apparently Nick.

There are better ways to describe the moods of Celticsblog. Would you have put PMS in the thread title?

To be fair, bipolar has only been a disease for a few years, before that, it was a way to describe something that goes to both extremes.

True, but overall its better to phrase the title differently.

Thanks for changing it rondohondo, tp.

exactly that's all I was saying I realize it is a disease, but I was just saying the mood of the posts change so much if we lose a game or 2 . I will change it though, no biggie

for sake of comparison...when the lakeshow lost to the cavs...or when they lost 2/3 a few stretches back earlier in the season, their fans, and the national media were saying things like:"are the lakers good as advertised"...yaddayaddayah...same deal with the cavs outta the gate. The season is about ebbs and flows.  I do think, at this juncture...30 someodd games outta 82 is enough of a sampling to see where your squad is at.  Initally, this team out the gate looked like world beaters...with quis, sheed, and the new look. Now....they look a lil shaky.  Not an indictment of the whole season per say...but shaky--irregardless of the record and stats.  January will be a more competive schedule to guage further.

i agree with the op in that the blog/some members can be "bi-polar".  some people post to such an extreme based on reactions from every single game, rather than taking a step back, seeing the big picture, and putting things into perspective by comparing the team with the rest of the league.
