who cares.

They did what they think is best for their ultimate goal, winning a superbowl.  As the pats showed, going undefeated and then losing in the playoffs makes the accomplishment near worthless.  I actually say good for the colts for doing what they think is best for the overall goal of the team, not what the fans want.

Only a moron would put going undefeated ahead of winning a championship. It means nothing. It's like a guy scoring 50 points in 3 quarters then benching him for the 4th quarter because it's a blowout, EXACT same thing. It makes TOTAL sense. It's a business, be realistic, it's the owner's team, not the fans'.

What would happen if the same thing that happened to Brady happened to Peyton Manning last Sunday? I honestly don't care. I'm glad they won't go 16-0, but even if they did big deal, as Patriots fans like myself know, 16-0 doesn't mean a trophy in February.

You have created a false dilemma.  There is no assurance, or even liklihood, that they increase their chances of winning it all by giving up on the game yesterday. Not going undefeated does not promise them a super bowl victory. In fact, in years past, when the Colts have shut it down toward the end of the season to rest for the play-offs and supposedly avoid injuries, they got bounced early from the playoffs. Look it up.

15-1 doesn't mean a trophy either.

At least the Pats had the guts to go for it in 07/08.

Good job Colts coaches: you managed to aggravate about 17 different groups of people:

Your players: Manning was p---ed.
Your fans: see the booing
Patriots and their fans: there's a banner hanging up in Gillette for their undefeated regular season and the Colts basically urinated on it.
NFL: ratings would've been uber-high.
Manning fantasy owners: in championship week too! ARRRGGHHHGHH
The Football Gods: They are going to have some weird bounces in the playoffs...

TP, but what I was meaning was that what if Manning got hurt?

Colts are really firing on all cylinders heading into the playoffs, huh? Bills giving them the business in a snowstorm.

I wonder what the people whining about the Colts thought when our beloved C's were overtly disgracing themselves tanking for draft position just a few short years ago?

Just sayin'.

If going undefeated means nothing why do people talk about the 72 Dolphins so much?
