Th lakers look tough but thin. Do you guys think they will make a significant move to help their bench this year?

It wouldn't surprise me that much if they tried to trade with Portland.  It seems they have some extra depth with backup bigs and they don't really need Luke Walton, who the Blazers might be able to use.  The Lakers could use Andre Miller or Steve Blake.  Either one could play at least 20-25 minutes a game for them off the bench, if not starting.

Portland wouldn't have traded with the Lakers before, but now it seems fairly obvious they aren't going to manage much more than a first (maybe second) round exit.  You can't get to the WCF without a starting center.  So they might be more willing to explore trade options even with a big rival.

I think Nate Robinson will end up going to the Lakers. Speed at the PG has been missing for the Lakers the last 2 seasons with Arron Brooks and Rondo blowing by fisher. Nate is a lot quicker, but he is also a lot shorter and not a great defender. I think he ends up there to join the all punk team with Kobe, Artest, odom

They have to make a move. Their bench is atrocious. Odom is just playing like he doesn't care in Kardashian land, Farmar and Sasha are terrible. Brown is looking like he can't do anything other than dunk. Ammo is total garbage.

If they don't get a bench I don't think they can win. I see them trying to get a Nocioni or a Nate Robinson..

They want to improve their bench but they can't. Vujacic is untradeable. They only have Morrison's expiring as an asset ; other than him, they don't have any bench player who has value as a player and all their contracts are terrible (and go well beyond this season).

I hope not. If we meet them in the finals, we can exploit once more their weak bench.

Exactly.
They have almost no chance at getting Nate Robinson, not without another team involved or unless they move Fisher - which I don't see happening. NY only wants an expiring in return for Nate's expiring, and LA has been a tad too generous with the length of some of their contracts.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some moves made to acquire Tmac. I'm pretty sure McGrady has said he would like to finish career in LA. There's probably no way they could get him via trade but I would say we will see him go the LA in the offseason at least.

Normally I would agree, but I doubt even the die-hards in Portland would deny that they don't have a chance at even reaching the WCF this year without a true starting center.

So I think it's at least possible.

I think they'd like to make a significant move to change their fan base, (and maybe change the foam thingies to be holding up a different finger). ;)

We're trying to get Rudy Fernandez, Kirk Heinrich.  Steve Blake would work.  I still think Farmar can turn the corner for us.  Shannon is serviceable as a bulkier PG to try to handle the Deron Williamses of the world.  The triangle system supposedly doesn't require a speedy PG who can create his own shot but that's the one position where we get hurt the most so hopefully it gets addressed.

You only need 7 maybe 8 guys to win the championship.

Kobe, Pau, Drew, Lamar, Ron Ron, plus Fish/Farmar/Brown is 6.  We need one more guy.  A slasher/swingman type.

never underestimate the Laker's ability to get something for nothing.

They'll make a move to get someone we wish Danny had gotten.

Why would the Bulls give you Hinrich or the Blazers give you Fernandez?
