Boston Globe:

The only big blow for the Celtics came in the final minutes, when Kevin Garnett jumped to block a shot by Vince Carter, landing awkwardly and tumbling to the ground. He hobbled back to the bench holding his back and didn't return.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Garnett mostly had a bruise on his head. Garnett said he was fine.

"If he grew some hair, it wouldn't hurt so much," Rivers joked.

My worry is if it aggravated his back in addition to being a nasty knock on the noggin.

Oh well, I'm just basking in the hard fought win for the C's and Laker's loss.

Thanks for post, (TP)...this is GREAT news..I saw the game and it wasn't pretty seeing him go down like that. Glad all is well with him.

I'm with the others that were more worried about his back initially.  I thought he might have bumped his head, but he kept stretching like it was his back.

Good news and TP for the post.

They have a cross country flight to go through. Lets see how KG responds to that.

Everybody accumulates bumps and bruises along the way. My concern is the major stuff like knees, back, hands and feet. You need these 4 structural components healthy to compete top level basketball.

Seems like a load of crap. Come on, I mean he landed right on his lower back! Clearly when KG was making his way gingerly off the court the issue wasn't his head.

Yeah it sure seemed like it was the lower back that was bothering him. Let's see how he feels in the morning. Won't be surprised if he's out Sunday with a bruised tailbone or back spasms.

Its his back. He'll def feel it in the morning. Lower Back pain tend to linger for while. I hope it doesn't hurt his mobility

Actually, it was his head ... he landed on his coccyx, but his head snapped back and slammed against the floor ... the loud sound everyone heard was his head hitting the floor. If you watch the replay, you can see the mark on the floor that his head made when he landed. He'll be sore all over from a slam like that, but concussion was the primary concern for Doc and the trainers ... and he seems to be ok at this point.

Not sure we should place too much value in what Doc says right after the game.  Like others say, KG will be sore today and it might be 24 hours before we know the extent of injury.  I could see KG being given another game off with Baby back now.
