Barring Kevin Garnett & Rasheed Wallace is healthy enough to suit up and be effective to play these next couple of weeks from their nagging minor (I HOPE)injuries, I wanna know what you guys think of this lineup.

C :Perkins     Backups:Sheldon Williams & Big Baby
PF:Wallace     Backups:Big Baby & Scalabrine
SF:Garnett     Backups:Bill Walker & Giddens
SG:Ray Allen   Backups:Tony Allen & Eddie House
PG:Rondo       Backups:Eddie House & Lester Hudson

Obviously KG at the Small Forward would be the question mark, but I do think it is something he could do for 5-6 games being he is a good defender. He would also probably gain a bit of a advantage offensively himself being that he could post up those small 6'7" to 6'9" guys. Possibly gaining 4-6pts more a game in the post & maybe getting 2-3 more rebounds a game not having to bang with true BIGS & wear down. KG can also hit the mid-range out to the 3 line pretty consistently & pass well enough to pick up some assist from that position. Just a thought but one a Good to Great coach would try to gain a advantage as oppossed to just letting a dis-advantage happen in starting a Tony Allen or Scalabrine. What you guys think?

That is very interesting but I think Doc will replace Pierce with Tony and give Walker and Eddie Tony's minutes and some of Paul's as well.

Sure, Tony has been a bit of a knucklehead on and off the court, but his teammates seem to like him and I think it's good to see contributing already and there now when we really need him.

If they put Rashard Lewis at the SF then i'd start KG at the three. But I think Orlando will be going with JWill, Carter, Pietrus, Lewis, Howard.

It's an intersting concept because it would keep our five best (remaining) players on the court, but here's how I look at it.  Here are the SF KG would be going up against over the next two weeks.

12/25 Orlando - Vince Carter
12/27 LA Clippers - Al Thorton
12/28 Golden St - Corey Maggete
12/30 Phoenix - Grant Hill
1/2 Toronto - Hedo Turkoglu
1/6 Miami - Quentin Richardson
1/8 Atlanta - Marvin Williams

I guess it would depend on how he would match up against those guys.  He'd have some obvious advantages and some obvious disadvantages.  If that bruised thigh slows him down at all, he'll be even more vulnerable.

Not to be unnecessarily contentious to the OP but the part about KG consistently hitting the 3 ball is false.  He's got a career .283 3PT%.  Not that this matters to your point or anything, just thought I should point it out.

I feel T.A is going to get the start at S.F, the celts want to see what this kids got we been waiting for years, The Celts called Walker back so i am sure between the two of them sharing time this will be a chance to see who stays and who goes as far as trades or releases.

the only problem is that Pietrus is playing SF for Magic not Carter (he is the SG), and Marvin Williams is Hawks PF, Josh Smith is faster and they use him as a SF, Williams play the PF

I say play Wallace.  Everyone is looking at this as the Celtics not completely matching up perfectly, but why can't we turn the tables on the opposition?  Why can't we make them say "gee, we can't guard KG, Wallace, and Perkins unless we have a different lineup."  This is my one criticism of Doc is that he's always catering to what the other team does.

Actually, we could play Ray at the three and Tony at the SG to start out. This is a very quick lineup that may give all our upcoming opponents trouble until we get the Captain back.

Bring Eddie off the bench at both guard slots and give Walker 10 minutes or so at the SF. We can always spot Lester a few minutes behind Eddie or Tony if we need him due to foul trouble.

I think we should start Sheed and bring KG off the bench. KG will bring huge energy off the bench with scoring and defense that will be valuable with Pierce missing.
