That would be an even scarier team if they could acquire Boozer this season. They would have a top 5 low post player on offense and defense with Boozer(19 ppg,10rpg) + Howard(18ppg, 12rpg). I could see a trade like this possibly going down at the deadline

Orl Sends: Gortat, Bass, Reddick

Utah Sends: Boozer

Orlando lineup

PG: Nelson  / Jason Williams / Johnson
SG: Carter  / Pietrus
SF: Lewis   / Barnes
PF: Boozer  /  Anderson
 C: Howard

That would be a great starting 5 and they would still have a pretty deep bench, just needing to add a backup center for 10-15 mins per game.

I hope this doesn't happen....

EDIT
: On second thought, Pietrus would likely have to be part of the deal.

That trade is highway robbery. Just because the Jazz are getting two white players does not mean they will do the deal (they already have the whitest team in the nba).

I think the Jazz would probably look for expiring contracts not two big men who have just been signed to long term contracts. If Utah does trade him I doubt he goes to Orlando this year. Maybe he signs with them next year but I doubt it. Boozer is largely about the money (see deal he took to leave Cleveland) and will not take a discount to play with Howard.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

They could add Pietrus instead of Bass or Gortat. Utah has been looking for a capable young SG for a while and Pietrus showed last year in the playoffs that he could be on the verge of becoming an all- star caliber player in the next few years. He is a great defender and a very good offensive player so I think Utah might consider it.

Why would Utah want expiring contracts for Booezer? they could just keep him the rest of the year if that was the case. They want young talent in return. Gortat is not just a white guy I threw in the trade by the way Reddick was, Gortat actually has some skills other than shooting he just needs to get the mins to play and he won't do that backing up Howard.

That would be a fun team -- Deron + Pietrus + Brewer + Millsap + Gortat with Okur and Kirilenko backing up the frontcourt. Or maybe switch AK-47's and Millsap's roles around.

The Jazz desperately need more defense on their team. It would be extremely difficult to do better than Pietrus + Gortat. I would, however, be much more interested if there was a way for Boozer to stay with one of Millsap-Okur-Kirilenko leaving instead.

I'd like to see the Magic play Nelson + Vince + Lewis + Bass + Dwight lineup once Jameer gets back and healthy. I wouldn't take on a player like Boozer until I was fully convinced that switching to a big lineup is more beneficial for the Magic than their current setup.

Orlando would be taking a large decline defensively from Lewis to Boozer at the PF slot plus Lewis was a lot less effective defensively at the SF spot rather than PF. That was before Dwight Howard + SVG though, so maybe things are different now, but I'd want to see that before committing to a player like Boozer.

Brandon Bass is the perfect player to try out in that role. A test-dummy for Boozer. Only, Bass is capable of playing good-to-very good defense.

Fair point about the Jazz not needing an expiring contract. I still don't think they are willing to Trade Boozer and just get back Gortat, Bass and Reddick. I like Pietrus replacing Bass a lot more for the Jazz.
I think that if the Jazz do move him it will be for some good young players (better than that package) or they will make another team take on a bad contract of theirs so they get Boozer and that player off the books.

don't knock it.  worked for the '86 Celtics: Bird, Mchale, Ainge, Walton, Wedman, Sichting.

I don't think that putting a 2nd low-post player on the Magic helps their offense. That kind of clashes with their "Spread the floor around DH" philosophy.

LOSERS!!! i bet jerry sloan is just loving that comment. what a dis to your teammates."down the road", boozer says. i'd love to see him shipped out to the worst team in the nba, or worse the clippers.

I think Boozer can play the High post. But it would only be a one year deal. They wouldn't have enough cash to resign him next year. So it would be an all in move. I think it's worth it to go for the title.
