Just a bizzare thread for the holidays.

If you could adopt one NBA player for the holidays:

1) Who would it be and why?
2) How would you spend your time with them?
3) What would be the outcome of your holiday season?

Remember to number your responses 1-3 and enjoy.

Easy one

1) Big Baby because he's a baby and I could mold him into the son I never had.

2) Coddling him, changing diapers, gently rocking him when he's crying, holding him over my shoulder and burping him.

3) Pure bliss.
Yup

1) Greg Oden because he has free time.

2) Since he is quite immobile at the moment, he'd act as our yule log and then I'd take him to Pasadena with me for the BCS National Championship game.

3) Without him, I'd be dropping five grand just to go out there, but with him, I'll benefit from senior discounts at all restaurants and hotels.  Cha-ching!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm gonna try to say this without being too creepy or weird.

1) Steve Nash because he's a little shorter than me and he's Canadian. I'm not saying Canadians aren't tough. I'm not saying that' I'm just saying they have impeccable manners and love to get hammered.

2) I will leave that up to Steve Nash. We could try to sell some vitamin water:

Would he be able to suck his thumb?  That is the question, Redz.

Depends on how ambidextrous he is I suppose.  Babies are very adaptive creatures though, I'm sure he'd have no problem.
Yup

I don't even have to ponder over this one, it's my favorite player, of course ... number 34!! ... Elliot Richards of the Diablos!

He's my mentor and hero ... and with Elliot around, I don't need to worry about watering the plants. ;)

Shouldn't it be the other way around?  Shouldn't NBA players 'give back' by adopting a certain number of fans each Christmas?

  • Rondo = Good
1) Shane Battier
2) I'd invite him and his wife to my aunt's Christmas party.  He would fit right in, small-talking with relatives etc.  Then when the Celtics play we could talk basketball.  He would mention that he could give me a recommendation for Duke law school if I wanted.  I'd politely refuse (and he'd do it anyway without my knowing).  The only weird thing about the whole situation would be having a 6'8'' guy at the party.
3) The result is I would actually be excited to spend Christmas at my aunt's house, and I wouldn't be bored out of my mind.
