Is it just me or is Tom Brady looking more and more Belichick-ish ?

Good day for the Pats.

Rex Ryan is such a fat fraud.

Not pretty at all (especially on the offensive side of things) but a win's a win and giving what happened with the Jets & Dolphins, you can't really complain.  2 game lead with 2 games to go.

Yeah, they're certainly going to have to show me a lot more for me to have any confidence that they'll do any damage in the playoffs.

The offense disappeared at times today and the offensive line was less than stellar.  Brady's timing has been off too.

On the plus side, the defense was able to get some real pressure today which is promising.  Leigh Bodden is starting to scare me out there.  Reminiscent of the days when I shuddered whenever the ball was thrown in Otis Smith or Duane Starks' direction.

I thought the defense played very well after the opening Buffalo drive.  But I hope Wilfork is ready next week, because Ron Brace isn't ready for prime time.

What really gets me about Brace and Chung is that the Pats traded down and down in the draft and passed on guys like Michael Oher, Clay Matthews, Vontae Davis, James Laurinitis and Rey Maualuga. All these guys are guys that draftniks from around the media world had the Pats picking, are guys playing positions that the Pats could really use good players at, and are all great young players.

Belichick missed the boat at the top of this year's draft. He had the opportunity to add Pro Bowl Talent in positions of need and didn't because of his "value" ratings and apparently poor talent evaluations this year.

Disagree.  Brace was and is Wilfork insurance.  Belichik says that he is getting better every week and that they wanted to play him but havent had the opportunity because of healthy players in front of him.  Chung has made some pretty good plays this year, and the book on him out of college was that he had great physical tools but wasnt there yet mentally.  Look at Merriweather, he was a first round pick that took a couple of years to develop.

And while I see your point about Clay Matthews, I dont think laurinitas helps this team.  I think while Mayo has had a bit of a sophomore slump, guyton has been very good imo and Laurinitas probably wouldnt get played over either of the other two.

And from what I hear, alot of NFL evaluators are very weary of taking USC linebackers because USC plays very far ahead of other teams in most games and their stats get inflated.

If Oher is not already an All-Pro, he will be next year. He is a cornerstone left tackle and may become a long long time All Pro at the position. Davis is showing signs of becoming a top notch cover corner and Matthews is probably going to be the defensive ROY at outside LB.

Sorry, I think he messed up and has been for some years at the top end of the draft.

I would rather have Vollmer for the money than Oher.  But notice that I didnt disagree with any of those players being good young players.

Edit: and for the record, Vollmer is getting 3.1 million over 4 years, Oher is getting 13.8 million over 5 years

Sorry dude I thought you were having a problem with the entire concept of the criticism not just the players you mentioned. As for the pricetags on the offensive tackle,. Volmer will be a good OT. Oher looks to be maybe the best at the position in just another year or two. He's that good. Much like Mankins was later considered one of the 2 or 3 best picks in the draft he came out of even though he was chosen so late, Oher will be considered even more so of a great pick.

Ya, Oher is a beast.  Vollmer came out of the Spread offense at Houston though so I think BB figured cheaper money and more familiarity with their pass happy system.

In terms of the second round value picks, Butler has made some plays this year, and could be pretty good.

I think we will see what happens with this offseason though.  I assume Wilfork gets resigned.  I dont think you can find anybody to replace what he gives on on a game by game basis.

For some reason this whole uncapped year next year is screwing with the way I look at this offseason.  I expect Wilfork gets signed.  A third receiver gets signed.  Thomas gets cut because there wont be a cap hit.

Pats have a first and another 3 seconds this year.  Hopefully an outside linebacker of pass rushing D-end with the first rounder.

And in this uncapped year, for WR

Brandon Marshall, Braylon Edwards, Antonio Bryant, Steve Breaston, Vincent Jackson, Miles Austin are all free agents

For D-ends, Peppers and Dumerville will be available next year

Merriman and Demeco Ryans are some good OLB
