Gerald Green to Russia (merged)

I´m sorry if this was already posted, but apparently, Gerald Green has found a new home...in Russia.

Power-dunker Gerald Green will be playing in Russia until the end of this season.

The deal was announced via the official website of Lokomotiv Kuban and it says that Gerald Green(2.03-SF) will be a player of the Russian team until the end of the season. Green is more known for his dunks and more specifically the 2007 NBA All-Star dunk contest where he triumphed in the final.

Green was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 18th pick of the first round in the 2005 NBA Draft.Since then he played for them and also Minnesota, Houston and as of late Dallas. Last season he averaged 4.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 42 games in the NBA with Dallas.

I don't see him doing well in European ball - his game isn't suited for it.  With that said, if he matures and adapts, this could be the best thing that ever happens to him.

He has talent but no bball IQ or maturity.  There is precedent of such players going abroad and figuring it out (getting their "stuff" together so to speak), so perhaps he will play in the league again. 

He's still fairly young and maybe playing in Europe where fundamentals seem to be more important will force him to clean up his game.

Hell no,  Gerald Green prodical son of the forum topic threads
will return again.  Starting with the rumors that he is the heir to the Pierce thrown of small forward replacements.  He will be rumored to be playing fierce defense.  To be the first one in to practice and the last to leave, making Kevin Garnet comment "Geesh, I need to bring up my intensity to the Green level".  Ray Allen will remark "I don't know how he does it, but the kid sure can stroke the ball like Reggie Miller".  And once again, his absence will make our bleeding hearts grow fonder.  We will speculate,

It was a great dunk tho.  The joy he brought us at the NBA Dunk contest that year helped the pain, a wee little bit anyways. 

The the table dunk was awesome. I thought the cupcake candle dunk the next year was better that Howards as well.

I am sure he can make some money in Russia.  They already have a few American players out there (one that rightfully plays for the Russian team and is actually pretty good, and there is some other player that wants to play for the Russian team just because he wants to be in the Olympics, which I think is really bad).  The teams abroad can offer some things.  Sure, they probably won't be making millions of dollars, but I think they can def live a comfortable life out there.  One of my high school players, who was really good but not great (good enough to play for UMaine and make first team there).  I heard he is playing in Belgium where they bought him a car and a house before he played his first game.
