I have a problem with the foul. It was clearly premeditated, which is fine. But if you know you're going to foul someone the next time they come into the lane they shouldn't land back-first. The play happened like 8 months ago, so it's not like it was het of the moment.

How should they land?  I'm partial to smacking someone so they land face-first.

So you'd have had no problem with Rondo injuring his back or neck on the play?

Honestly, I am a Brad Miller fan.  I think he is a throwback player.
I have no problem with the foul, but I am not sure flopping and whining are throwback qualities.

While I am sure it crossed Miller's mind before the game that he wanted to hit Rondo hard if he took it to the hoop, I don't think he was thinking in the moment whether he would end up on his back or not.

Miller's not exactly a rookie. If you grab someone by the upper body from behind when they've left their feet on a jump forward and then let go what would you expect to happen? There's plenty of ways to give a hard foul aside from what Miller did.

Cheap shot by Rondo last year on Miller.  Cheap shot by Miller on Rondo this year.  Score's even so let's just move on and play basketball.  It's good that the other players on the court recognized that and hopefully won't start going back and forth in future games.  And the next player to take a cheap shot will and should be suspended.  There's always more leeway given, and rightly so, when it's payback.  And it's not like Miller tried to rip his head off.  He simply took the opportunity and fouled Rondo the same way Rondo fouled him.  I don't see what the big deal is.
