Still early into the season yet a good amount of time has elapse to know who are favorites to make the team. Some guys who don't deserve it make the team for popularity reasons though most guys do since they deserve it.

In my prediction KG(starter), Rondo, Ray Allen (bench) make it this year with all star regular Pierce  watching the game from home.

Pierce is still a really good SF but his play has been bystander like so far. Perk won't make it either since he is considered more of a blue collar type player

No way this year Jameer Nelson nor Mo Williams get picked before Rondo.

That might be true but allen has been better and i believe he leads in 3 pt shooting and one of the tops made plus he reached his milstone which is a big accomplishment.

I'd still put Pierce ahead of Rondo ... but I agree that Rondo + Perk are ahead of Ray.

I'm shocked you don't think Pierce will make it, TB.  Statistically, he's been our best player this year.

I think Pierce and KG are a given.  I think Perk and Ray will be left off.  I think Rondo will be a close call, but ultimately I think he'll make it.

kg, pp and then rondo
perk really should get a look with the east centers

just remember its a popularity vote and really means nothing!

I think Perkins should be a coaches selection all-star ahead of Garnett, Pierce & Rondo. If Rondo doesn't make it, it would be his own fault with the poor free-throw shooting numbers. Although Rondo is playing very well, those little things sway voters away who may be looking for an excuse to keep him off. But back to the original point, Perk has by far been the best Celtic this season. And he leads the league in FG% & I believe he is in the top 10 in block shots. Hats of to BIG PERK!

Agreed. Rondo's been the best pg in the east but shooting guards will get the most fan votes.

Based on competition by position Perk should be the easiest shoe in.  I'll give you Howard as the starter, who is better in the east at center in the 2nd slot?

Of course it will probably come down to a numbers game and Perk will get passed over, but he really is deserving on merit.
Yup

Garnett is probably going to be voted in. So he goes.

Pierce will definitely be voted in by the coaches because he's easily the second best SF in the East. So he goes.

There's too many superstar shooting guards in the league having way better years than Ray Allen for Ray to make it, so he doesn't go.

Rondo is the best all around PG is the East and since no PG will get voted in by the fans, Rondo will probably go but it's about 60-40 that he goes right now. With continued excellent play like he has been playing, he chances will get better.

Perk will get squeezed because of his rebounding numbers and because it's probably unlikely that the league reward the C's with 4 players going to the ASG. Horford, Noah and Lopez all have better numbers than perk and are on about equal par with him as an overall all around player. So I say he to will be home for the game.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Ray's having a good season, but it's got nothing to do with his shooting. He is shooting 33% from three this season (Pierce is up at 42%).

I say Pierce, and KG are a lock. Rondo has something like a 50/50 shot. Perk and Ray have a very slim chances, but it's a possibility.

If the Celtics have the best record in the NBA and are getting a lot of pub around the AS break, I could see 4 making it with Ray being left out. Really, Allen needed injuries to get in the past 2 seasons and this year his #s are down a bit.

By the way, Im not sure if this needs its own thread but Toucher and Rich are doing a promotion and have an agreement with Scal. If he gets 250,000 votes, he will get a spray tan! I beg you CB, we need to make sure this happens! He got 150,000 last year with no promotion so it is possible.
