Had to go visit a customer and on the way I was listening to Jackie MacMullen being interviewed on WEEI and the subject came up that the Bulls had crazy Dennis Rodman and still won so the Lakers could still win with crazy Ron Artest.

Her answer was that she knows Rodman well and that he isn't crazy so much as he wants to be liked and loved so much that a nutty agent advised him to act the way he used to to get the media attention and he did it.

The difference with Artest is not that he is getting bad advise to act this way but, get this, he acts against doctors orders and doesn't take advise about what he should be doing to keep himself in the best condition he can to help his teams.

Now given that we have seen him in his underwear on television and that he is in NBA shape and able to do the things he does physically, I have to believe the doctor she was talking about was perhaps a psychiatrist and that he has issues and does not take care of them.

Makes a lot of sense.

He clearly has some psychiatric issues. People compare him Rodman, but Rodman never went into the stands - that's a sign of, at the very least, some type of anger management issue.

Still can't believe the Lakers committed to him for FIVE YEARS.

I dont remember Ron making much noise while he was on the Bulls. Maybe for his sake he should start hitting the bottle again.

I really believe that Artest is in his right frame of mind..he does and says this stuff to get attention. He knows what he is doing.

One would think that if he drank at half time someone would smell it on his breath and report it?

Maybe he believes that with everyone focused on him, that will take pressure off of Kobe.

So none of you have had a martini lunch and then returned to work?

I don't have a problem with this, assuming he wasn't drinking a lot. A few ounces for a 250 pound man isn't going to intoxicate him.

can the bulls bring a law suit against him for this. i mean they payed him millions and he was boozing at half time. wouldn't that be against the contract? can't they get their money back?

i would be really upset if somebody did this on my team, can't imagine how bulls fans feel about this

I found it scary he claims that there was nothing he could do differently in the Palace Brawl situation.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Ron Artest might be my favorite Laker of all-time.  He's just so cheerfully insane.  And there's a strong chance he'll seriously damage their chemistry by the end of the year, so hey, bonus.

I think the worst part was when he said he could've had a MVP season in Indiana but didn't because they didn't value him enough.

and he was making SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.

Was he drunk when he admitted this all? I mean really? Nice signing LA. Glad we didn't get him.

When I return to work, my job isn't to endure strenuous excercise where I need to be hydrated and completely clear minded to perform at 100%. He may not have been drunk after his liquid lunch, but he certainly was not better off for it. Point taken though.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.
