weird story

http://www.thestar.com/sports/golf/woods/article/731801--tiger-woods-seriously-hurt-in-car-accident

according to reports alcohol not involved...but the fact that he hit a fire hydrant and tree and sustained serious injuries while backing out of his driveway sounds suspicious at best...

here's hoping for the best for one of the greatest athletes of our time.

The whole story doesn't make much sense.  For example, if he was seriously hurt, he would not have already been released from the hospital.

I think this is a case of it being too early for them to report anything yet, since they clearly do not have any real details.

Bizarre reporting of this story.

3:00 PM: Tiger Woods suffers serious injuries and was in serious condition after accident..

4:00 PM: Tiger suffered face laterations in minor accident and was treated and released from hospital in good condition

8:00 PM: Elin had to break window of car with golf club as Tiger was going in and out of concisousness.

I feel like we'll never know the true story from this one.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

When Tiger regained consciousness he reprimanded Ellin for his club choice.  ::)

Sounds like Tiger and his wife got into a fight.  Probably over the recent reports of Tiger having an affair.

For whatever reason, Tiger decided to get in the truck and get out of there.

His wife chases after him with the golf club... smashes the back window.. Tiger is startled... loses control and goes right into the tree/hydrant.

My prediction-

Pain killer addiction or alcohol covered up by media. And if it's a cover up?  Hallelujah!  Bout time for the cops to look the other way on someone of his particular race instead of profiling.

I do hope he's ok though, car accidents are no joke, and I would hate for EA to stop making his game. ;)

Geesh,

Sounds as though Tiger's wife was tee'd off!
And maybe he's been putting off the green.

This type of comment is a key reason that racism will take longer to fade completely away than it should. What does race have to do with this at all?! Enough with racially motivated comments people! We just elected a black president. Let it die... It just makes things worse.

Hahaha...did you just make this up based off the inconsistent information given by the media? How can you say this with any confidence?

I don't know if that's exactly what happened, maybe they were fighting over the turkey dinner, but I bet you it's pretty close.

His wife "rushing from the house with golf club in hand to bash in his back window and drag him from the wreckage," is an obvious lie.

Check the accident scene pictures.

Does anyone really believe this crap that Tiger is feeding the press? He's saying that it was completely his fault, that he crashed the SUV, and then his 95-or-so-pound wife broke both rear windows with a golf club and pulled him out of the Escalade by herself. OK, so why did he have cut lips and why was he in and out of consciousness when his car was going less than 33 MPH when it hit the tree?

The front windshield was NOT broken and the airbags not deployed ... how did he get so many injuries, cuts and bruises, and to the point of affecting his consciousness? It just makes no sense whatsoever. I can't imagine, in a vehicle that large, how he could hit a tree slow enough to not deploy the airbags, and yet still come away with such injuries ... and why did she break more than one window?

When authorities got there, his wife was standing over him with the golf club, and he was in and out of consciousness. Sorry, but this story just doesn't fly, and there are WAY too many holes in it for it to stand up under scrutiny. There's a lot more to this than meets the eye, and as Dezi would say to Lucy: "You got some 'splaining to do!"

as opposed to the completely inconsistent tripe tiger is handing out?

Please, it's a domestic dispute, plain and simple. Certainly not as crazy as TMZ would have you believe, but if you believe tigers press release that his wife had to use a four iron to break the back window of his SUV to get to him and somehow her 90 pound self was able to drag him out over two rows of seats, unfortunately leaving him laying in the road with her standing over him with a golf club when the police arrived leading to this whole crazy misunderstanding of her heroic efforts....I have a bridge i'd like to sell you.

that doesn't even put tiger's happy heroine version of events up against the photo's of the car, which show front end damage consistent with a low speed crash, no air bags deployed, and no damage of any kind to the doors (or any damage beyond the smashed windows and front end damage). One would think that his wife would try to open a door instead of using the golf clubs as jaws of life as tiger and Co would like us to believe.

if it was as cut and dry as him hitting a tree at 2:30 in the morning and his wife heroically rushing out of the house, 4 iron in hand, why would they keep ducking the police report?

Bottom line, it's a domestic dispute, no one knows anything more except the two people involved, and the world would do better to leave the two of them in peace and let the police and parties handle it. But Tiger's a mega-celeb, so that won't happen. sad, really.

He probably had cut lips from getting a mouthful of steering wheel.  Have you been in a car accident?  You don't have to be going fast to sustain injuries - even if you're only going 15, the sudden deceleration from 15 to 0 is enough to jerk your head with a considerable amount of force.  I agree that the whole 'breaking out the rear windows' thing doesn't make much sense, though.

In the end, he should just be left alone.  I'll side with him on one thing - this is a private matter, and the media shouldn't have any further involvement.  Had it been me in his position, I doubt it would even have been in the local papers, much less plastered over every news broadcast in the country.  This is essentially rumormongering gossip at this point.  It'll remain a gigantic story for a week or two, but in the end it doesn't matter at all beyond the simple, fact-based conclusion that he's OK.
