Why can't the Celtics get young players like that?  Even the guys Ainge drafts are 25 years old.

That guy spent one year at UCLA and did nothing, and I guess the reason why DA can't draft a guy like that is because he was drafted way before we had a pick, due to trades that brought a championship here I think

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Personally I like having a team with established stars, not just individual players who may or may not have bright futures. Yeah, Jrue looks pretty good, but where would he fit in here?

Geez, I don't know, where would Brandon Jennings fit in here, or Westbrook, or....

The kid is as quick as Rondo and can shoot.  They would find a place for him.

Right, but it would have to be at the expense of someone else- like in a trade. Since he went at pick 17, we would have had to trade somebody pretty darn valuable to acquire that pick. I am not sure why people think we can have this superstar team and young, high draft picks. I say we create a new rule where the best teams get the highest picks in the draft and the worst teams get the lowest. That way we will be good forever.

that would definitely solve the problem of tanking

...and seriously, until he becomes an all-star caliber player on a team that matters, don't compare him to Rondo. Lots of guys are as quick as Rondo, but almost none have his instincts...now Westbrook is a guy who has a lot of potential, but I would still take Rondo.

LOL. Now that you mention it. I did think there was something familiar about him.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.
