I never have dreams about the Celtics (or anything coherent, really) but I had a dream last night that Ray Allen hit 5 threes and got out of his slump.  I feel pretty good about this next stretch and look forward to seeing the team of the first 2 weeks again.

Love the enthusiasm!  The Boo Birds and "trade" makers have been getting me down a bit lately....count me in as a member of your club!  I feel that Davis is a small, but very important, part of this team and signs of his imminent return is a harbinger of great success.   Go Celts!  I am ready for the championship ride!   woooo woooo

TP for using imminent and harbinger in one sentence.

I am buoyed by the optimism in this thread -- thanks for a thread as yet unsullied by the killjoys and curmudgeons.

I had a dream Rondo started hitting nonstop jumpers and KG was nearing triples doubles every game. And we went for that Bulls record.

Gritty win tonight!  Sign of a really good team is a team that can find a way to win when it is not playing it's best.  Sometimes I feel that some people want a ref in their pocket so that we can win every game by 30 points!  That is not how sports work...sometime you have to scratch and claw to win by 2 and it counts the same as a 30 point win anyway...a win is a win.  That is why a game is four quarters, 42 minutes long, and why a season is 82 games plus.

We are a really good team and we are going to get better!  Take that to the bank.

I think it is hilarious that this is being called a great win. The Celts beat a team without its starting point guasrd and a power forward, Speights, who has been playing great for them. They had a 19-year-old point guard who neutralized Rondo for much of the game. They beat a horrendous Knicks team by 2 in overtime and they beat a bad, undermanned Philly team tonight by 3. I know, a win is a win, but this team is not beating any good teams unless they dramtically improve.

There are more shades to success than close wins over good teams and blowout wins over bad or mediocre teams.  Execution is what I look for.  The C's have shown enough improvement in their execution in the past few games, even the Magic loss, to make me believe that positive momentum is building.  The defensive focus is still too inconsistent and the offensive rhythm is still hiccupy, but at least we're developing some go-to plays and showing the capability of putting together dominating defensive sequences.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Tp for this one... People are focusing on how many wins, instead of how they win. A Identity crisis team like the knicks should have been giving easily a 20 piece blow-out >:(. The Timberwolves should have been giving a 30 piece >:(, and these stinky 76ers should have got a 40 piece >:( >:( (No brand, No Speights, and No L Williams ??? ???). I can't wait for Friday. Hoepfully I get to eat my words but its not looking too good for the C's to be playing a team like the Raptors this early on.

I think it's hilarious you went out of your way to invade a positive topic to bring us all down when there's seven topics about how crappy we played available, but that's just me.

We got bailed out tonight. The fouls and freethrows were not even close. We double their freethrows and halfed their fouls and were still struggling. Thank you refs.

I really hope you are right though.

Trolls don't bother me one bit...I figure tearing us down is their job.  The people who bother me are the ones who are supposed Celts fans.  I don't mind constructive criticism, and there is plenty of that, but I cringe when "fans" are so down on the team that they throw blame around, i.e "Doc is a terrible coach and should be fired", "Danny is a failure and a liar", etc.

Danny and Doc seem enamoured by the three point shot and I am not...but that doesn't make them evil, and (although I think I am) it does not make me right  ;)

I do believe that KG's leg will continue to improve, Rondo will find more confidence in his shot and the return of Davis (who has not been my favorite player) will help the team by cleaning people out from under the basket, both for offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds.

If you go through my post history you will realize I am an optmimist to a fault and it's not just about the Celtics.

My friends think I am delusional.

On that note...I have the same feeling! I have been spouting things like the C's wont lose for a month for the past week and I 100% believe it. TP4U OP!!!
