Don't you think? We need another scorer and someone who can spell KG because right now, Sheed's not getting it done.

As for money issues, it seems to me like the Garden is packed every night. If the Celts don't have the $ to acquire Nocioni's contract, then where's the money going?

I think Scal, T.A. and Giddens for Nocioni is a no-brainer. Unless Danny has his sights set on someone else between now and February.

like I've said before, I'd prefer Pose, but I agree that if a Noci deal is on the table I would just do it.

I think it would be a big boost to our roster flexibility...

Don't waste the money. Either KG gets better, or he doesn't. If he does, we won't need Nocioni. If he doesn't, why commit a ton of money?

maybe having Noci helps KG get better...

personally, I think KG needs to take a month off somewhere midseason and having Baby back and Noci added would make that more possible.

I think that is a lot of money to tie up if that is a reason why you would want Noc. I really don't think we would need or have Noc back him up even if we did get him. Once Baby comes back we have Sheed, Baby, Scal and Sheldon to back him up. At this point I don't see us losing too much if KG sat out for that amount of time. Especially once we get Baby back. Thats also assuming Sheed doesn't continue to shoot like he is.

I really think that getting Nocioni would be a terrible move money wise and I don't think he even brings you that much on the court.

I think taking time off is the opposite of what KG needs.

I think he just needs to keep working and play through this.  As long as he hovers around 30 mpg I think he'll be able to work his way back to at least near to form.

I agree KG may need a month off.  He appears to be getting more hobbled game by game.  This rehabilitation strategy is definitely not working.  I still don't think getting Nocioni would help KG take time off.  Baby will be back soon anyway.
I really like Nocioni but I'm starting to agree with the posters who say he's lost a couple steps.  He's starting for an untalented team.  It seems like he should be putting up far better numbers.  I'm not sure he's worth his salary anymore.

Niether guy is going to be Celtic. Management will never take on their outdated contracts. There's better talent out there that'll be moving this season, and we don't need to get OLDER we need to get younger.

While I liked the Nocioni idea a week ago, I am starting to think they would be better off pursuing a more athletic player.  This team looks OLD, and they are having trouble keeping up with the younger, more athletic teams.  So they should be looking for guys who might help to bridge that gap a bit.  As much as I like Nocioni's game, I don't know if he is that guy.

  I agree.

Me too.  He looks like a guy who is really struggling with a lack of strength in his legs, and that is not going to be improved by taking games off.  He needs to work himself back into playing shape, and the only way to do that is to be on the floor.

I'm all for Nocioni the player, but the contract is TOOO much...right now we'd have Rays Money coming off the books next year. I think its too early for Nocioni and that would be a panic move. Would he help now? of course, but we got to think about the future of this team as well and if we are going to contend in the future we need cap flexability. Lets face it the door is beginning to shut, father time is catching up to our old guys we need to get younger and athletic over the next few years.

I'm very curious to why people are saying KG's not well when I look at the box score and see his stats are pretty good for someone who played 32 minutes (10 points 7 rebounds 4-15 FG) vs Perkins' 37 minutes (16 points 13 rebounds 1 assist on 6-7 FG)) Ray Ray's 40 minutes (13 points 1 rebound 2 assists 3-13 FG) Paul Pierce's 42 minutes (33 points 9 rebounds 6 assists on 9-17 FG) and Rondo's minutes (14 points 9 rebounds 10 assists on 5-13 FG).

Ok, huge stat dump I know, but KG played the least minutes out of all the starters, and I notice that only Perkins and Paul Pierce had anything close to a good shooting percentage. Heck, I'm wondering how long it takes before someone wonders if Ray Allen himself is injured.  ::)

I went to the game, and I didn't see anything that suggested KG was stumbling around/limping. He's fine. He's not going to go off every single game. And when he doesn't, that doesn't mean he's hurt again. Unless something comes out that he re-aggravated his knee, why complain about it, especially off of a win where he made the buzzer beater?

Watch the games.  KG has clearly lost a step and a half, has lost most of his explosiveness, and looks fragile when he moves laterally, or comes down from a jump.

I think its a matter of rebuilding strength, but he clearly isn't right, and he is nowhere near as effective as he was in the past.

Because KG needs to shoot better than 4-15. He's also supposed to be our best player, he should be better than Perkins.
