IMO the Celtics Organization did Powe fine...after all we drafted him, gave him an opportunity, right?

I miss Powe, too, but I don't think that we would have signed Shelden if Powe had been re-upped. This would have led to No Powe until sometime next year, no Shelden, and no Glen Davis...we'd be like 8-6 if it wasn't for Shelden right now.

Our only bigs off of bench would've been Sheed and Scal....

I just think that November will be/has been our point of struggle and things will get better as season progresses.

It's just a rough period of time for the C's. I'll take the win today, though. KG is a Warrior...SuperStars find a way to win even if nothing else is going right. I just hope his knee is fine.

Maybe Doc shuts him down for this week and lets Sheed start.

We'll get through this.

If karma existed then a terrorist squad of Michael Jackson impersonators would attack the Lakers headquarters, make demands, and crucify Kobe.  They would then get their demands met, 10 million in cash, and a helicopter that would take them safely to Mexico, where they would catch a plane to the Vatican where they would be accepted as political and religious refugees.

Honestly, is powe any better then Sheldon Williams? Even if he is slightly better, which I could argue, Williams is definitely better for a full year vs .5 year of Powe. I think we will be alright. We just all got a little caught up in the hot start and forgot there was going to be rough stretches.

well IMO one of the things our bench lacks is the demeanor that Leon played with. Dude plays with an edge. Also would say he is a better offensive player. Rebounding about the same.

the "playing with an edge" thing is probably the biggest difference and something that is lacking on our bench right now...

I guess I agree that Shelden isn't as 'edgy' as Powe, but he seems to be every bit as effective. I think we are definitely missing Baby right now. I don't necessarily think that he is better than Rasheed or anything, but he is less lethargic and can throw a killer screen. Powe and Baby always worked well together with the second unit. Once Rasheed breaks out of his slump and once Baby comes back, I think we will be just fine.

Besides, the reason we 'stink' right now is because we come out slow every game and we aren't the 3rd quarter juggernaut we used to be and that really falls on the starters.

I agree Shelden has been a nice contributor, but the edginess of Leon went beyond his own stats. when you have guys that play with an edge it permeates the rest of the team.

Sheed, Daniels, and Shelden are all pretty low key players.

I do think that BBD's energy will benefit our second unit greatly when he gets back.

Sometimes it turns into a negative when he makes dumb plays, but its something our current bench lacks.

Honestly, I thought of this as soon as we didn't resign him. We finally got over the curse of the bambino and now get ready for 86 years of the Curse of Leon.

Not really but Karma can be a funny thing, the bambino, Brady out for the season after spygate/running up the score and of course "My name is Earl" being canceled after they put Paris Hilton on the show and the guy who played Earl named his kid Pilot Inspektor

Eh... if Karma is the reason then I think it has a less to do with Powe and more to do with signing Marbury last year and SHeed this year.

Don't get me wrong... I rooted for Marbury last year and I'm rooting for Sheed this year... but prior to either of those Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.s joining the Celtics, I felt like they were both flaming balls of dog turd.

That's probably the problem.  That I'm forced to root for flaming balls of dog turd and make excuses for the fact that they have always been flaming balls of dog turd... and that someone is very likely going to get defensive about me calling our newly beloved sheed a flaming ball of dog turd.
