It's very simple: Karma.

"Karma?" you ask? Yes, Karma. Karma for our unfair treatment of Leon Powe. This theory involves the ideas of "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you", and "What you sow is what you reap". We treated Leon Powe with no respect or appreciation in the way that we let him go. Now, many missed 3 point attempts by Rasheed later, I am beginning to miss Powe's inside game and vicious tenacity on defense. Am I alone in missing Leon? I don't think I am.

(Of course, I don't believe in Karma...but I'd be lying to say that I didn't roll the theory over in my mind for quite a bit while watching us struggle against New York in overtime this afternoon...)

Okay, I love Leon. I really do, wish we would've have signed and I wish him all the success in the future. But let's face it, even if we did resign him, he wouldn't be playing right now and wouldn't have any sort of impact.

Haha, it doesn't matter if he can play right now or not, but the way we treated him was just not cool. Even if he didn't immediately resign with us, we should have at least offered to see him through his rehab and make a valid decision according to how well he recovered or something. I don't mean to bring up the whole Leon thing again, but I couldn't resist lol.

(As a matter of fact, I was all for letting him go and getting Sheed and Sheldon...sorry Karma...)

I just hope we didn't tick Red off or something...

I do think you are right about us missing his inside presence as well as his sacrifice to do whatever the team needs. I also agree that he wasnt treated fairly as well. The NBA is a business though and there are lots and lots of backhanded things that go on in any business much less sports. Our problem now is trying to figure out how to incorporate KG into the scheme while he is still having obvious problems with his explosiveness. Also, just give Sheed his career averages on 3's and we would have won at least a couple more games. We will be fine as long as we are healthy in April!

Because teams are obligated to resign injured players when they won't be healthy for the majority of the coming basketball season? Okay....

This follows on the heals of the terrible karma from last season that came after we dumped Scot Pollard.

karma or not, I miss Leon. I think the team also misses the type of aggressive play he brings to the floor.

I have no idea where he is in his rehab and Shelden has been a nice addition for a big, but I would like to be able to look ahead to a February return of Leon to our rotation.

I don't know about karma, but I would say that this is largely a case of bad luck.  Has the defense been iffy?  Yes.  Has KG looked less than 100%?  Yes.  Have they not taken care of the ball?  Yes.  However, would they be 12-2 or 13-1 if shots that usually went in went in?  Yes.

Would we still have those flaws?  Absolutely.  But would anyone be coming up with wacky trade threads or screaming that the sky is falling?  Absolutely not.

I am disappointed.  I thought that this team was going to give the Bulls a run for their money in the record department.  That may not be in the cards.  However, a plunge into mediocrity isn't a foregone conclusion.  They've played poorly the past 6 games.  Who cares?  The season is very long and they have a lot of time to right the ship.  Furthermore, just because KG isn't 100% now doesn't mean that he won't be come playoff time.  Just look how Brady has progressed as the season has gone on after looking shaky the first 1/4 of the season.  I'm not a medical expert, so I can't guarantee anything; however, neither are most people who are claiming he's done.

The sky isn't falling, the C's are 10-4.  Hopefully they'll wake up and start hitting some shots and start to steamroll the crap teams of the league.

Honestly, is powe any better then Sheldon Williams? Even if he is slightly better, which I could argue, Williams is definitely better for a full year vs .5 year of Powe. I think we will be alright. We just all got a little caught up in the hot start and forgot there was going to be rough stretches.
