Then let's go after Duhon.

I like this idea.
Me too. Or we can wait for the Knicks to buy him out and sign him for a vet min.

You think they would just buy him out? I'm not sure about that.
He's not expensive, a cancer, and his deal is expiring.

The Knicks aren't going to buy Duhon out, they need all the players they can get!

I sense a Scal and parts/chips for Duhon trade proposal on the horizon.

Too bad Isiah isn't still running the ship there.

Isiah should see if Iverson has any eligibility left..If that actually matters...He'd probably fit right in at Florida International.  They probably don't have a salary cap....But I guess the Knicks don't either.

Yeah, ultimately, I think if they signed AI, he would start next to Duhon.  Duhon is big enough to cover SG's (at least for the Knicks, who cover no one), and then they will bring their other two midgets off the bench behind them.

Gotta be expiring contracts. Should we offer Scal and TA? or TA and Scal?

I think when people consider these trades with the Knicks, they need to remember that Donnie Walsh does NOT give things away.  He plays hardball with the best of them.  This is not Isiah.  Right now, unless someone is willing to take on a bad contract (which the C's are not willing to do), they are going to have to pay a premium for anyone on the Knicks.

And to take it a little further, if Duhon really could be had for expiring contracts, why wouldn't Orlando (who need a PG much more than Boston) simply use their $6.8 million trade exception to take on Duhon, saving the Knicks about $12 million (pro-rated) this season, and while also providing the Knicks with a very valuable trade exception that could be used to add a $6 million player to their roster next year, after they go over the cap with the elite player(s) they sign.

This will give Iverson the chance to be the chucker he thought he was going to be in Memphis; good for him.

How many points do you think he'll average?

Probably something like 24 a game. He'll be scoring and getting assists(5+) because he dominates the ball so much on offense. He'll get his usual steals from playing the passing lanes almost exclusively. The Knicks will get slighlty better because Al Harrington will no longer be their primary scoring option.

I like this idea.

I like it too.  Just the other day AI said he was willing to come off the bench for a contender.  I guess he really doesn't care about winning anymore.  He used to care about winning.
But he wants to start more than anything else. He could start there.

The uniqueness of the Knicks is that they aren't actually rebuilding. They are actually just going through the motions this season in preparation for free agency. If AI can make them more entertaining at a low salary, then it makes sense.

Unless a deal is expanded to include more players I can't see who of our expiring deals the Knicks would really want.

Nick started a post on this in the trade forums...

LOL.  An NBA GM sneezes and someone starts a new trade thread on CBlog.

As many points as the Knicks victories with AI on the roster. 20 on a bad season, 25 if things go well.

Duhon has been positively horrendous this year to this point. AWFUL. I'll take a pass although I was an advocate int he summer. He's really regressed..

And AI destroying his legacy. First Memphis and now the Knicks? Just Retire AI..
